  1. Hello everybody ! Last saturday, Futuroscope unveiled its all new ride : Arthur, the 4D Adventure, a great 4D simulator based on the Arthur and the Invisibles trilogy by Luc Besson. As you maybe not know the Futuroscope, some words about the park. It's the third french theme park, behind Disneyland Paris and Parc Asterix. It welcomed 1,7 millions guests in 2008. The park opened in 1987 and is based on multimedia and audio-visual technologies. The park is home of the world largest ammount of Imax theaters (1 classic Imax, 1 Imax 3D, 1 Imax Dome, 1 Imax Dome 3D, 1 Imax Dome 3D with simulator and 1 Magic Carpet, a theater unique in the world with 2 Imax screens, it's Soarin's ancestor) but also 4 simulators rides, Kuka robocoasters, a dark ride based on the The Future is Wild serie or a great night show. No big roller coasters there, only a small credit : a Butterfly from Heege. An aerial view of the park In 2000 opened Le Défi d'Atlantis, a Imax Dome 3D simualtor showing the movie Race for Atlantis (that was shown in Las Vegas, at the Caesars - is it still there ?) As that ride became old, they decided to totally renew it and the building is now home of the new Arthur ride. Arthur's building As you come inside the building, you're immersed inside the Invisibles world in a really nice themed queue line with some interactive animations. All the theming work has been done by Joravision, who often works with Efteling for instance. Then you come inside the ride itself, an unique combination of technologies all in one place : a 3D animated film on a 900 m² Imax Dome screen, with a motion simulator and 4D effects. A ride full of fun, with an effect unique in the world ! Updates on the old simulators has been made by Simworx, and the 4D effects has been provided by Kraftwerk. Here can you see some artworks and pictures of the building site (from last june) : http://nv.parkothek.info/dossier/00000491-arthur_et_les_minimoys_les_1ers_secrets_de_l_aventure_4d.html I tried the ride during the media day, and it's really a new hit ! It's the first time that Futuroscope has a real theme park ride, and it definitelly is the best ride in France apart Disney. I really loved it ! Some queue line pictures : Here you can discover your weight as an Invisible (or Minimoy in French) In the ride : Some pics from the film : And some pics of the media day : Luc Besson in the ride All pictures by Futuroscope. Last but not least, the video teaser (only in french) : Hope my english was good enough !
