  1. I can't say I've ever disliked a roller coaster. If I had to pick one it would be a fairground-type steel miniature at the Del Mar Fair in San Diego, but only because it cost $7.00 per ride. Roughness makes coasters fun, that's why I like Viper and Psyclone at Magic Mountain better than alot of the newer rides. Yeah, X is unique, but you don't actually get the adrenaline rush of being on a rollercoaster after the first drop. It's too smooth.
  2. There aren't any parks near me, I'm on the central California Coast, and the closest parks would be over 3 hours away: Magic Mountain, Santa Clarita Paramount Great America, Santa Clara Bonfante Gardens, Gilroy Unless you call the water slides at Lopez Lake enough of an attraction! And now that you think about it, the closest rides to me in Santa Maria, CA are at: NEVERLAND RANCH! Sucks to be me...
  3. Disneyland California Adventure: There's like one or two rides that are actually exciting, and it takes like an hour just to get to the park what with the parking, the trams, the odd mall-like entrance to the two parks, and of course, the ridiculous cost of entry and concessions. Stick with the original.
  4. This has been going for a long time!!! Lightning Racer
  5. I'm fed up with always going to these type of sites and hearing people rag on SFMM for various baseless reasons. I've been there eight times over the past 3 years and I have never had a single problem with any of the following: Lines longer than 45 minutes Gang Violence Inept ride operators The only complaints I have are that they don't run both trains on Colossus, and that occasionally there will be only one train running on a less-than-popular ride, thus slightly increasing wait time. When Tatsu opened, the response was enormous, but this is something that you should know. If you go to ANY theme park on Spring Break weekend, you should expect long lines for every ride and not whine about them. If it really means that much to you that you have to go on every ride in the park three or four times, buy a 3-day park pass for only like $15 more per person. And as far as expensive food, it's like that everywhere too. Churros are supposed to cost $14.00, that's just how they are. Anyway, tell me what you think about SFMM, and what your favorite parts of it are. I love the simpler things that are unconscious parts of the park experience, such as the odd taste of the Coke in those big plastic bottles, the deafening roar of Superman as you walk underneath, the oddity that is sushi in a theme park, the idiotic screaming for your life as Goldrusher leaves the station, and above all, the funnel cake. The park has freaking redwoods in it, too! Have you ever actually looked at the hill in the center of the park? (especially pre-Tatsu) Or realized how funny calling the bathrooms Fort le John really is? What about wondering what they'll do with Flashback? (Where is all that rerouted power going, anyway?) What about the midway games? You can always win something from the person who has to guess your weight, because they don't want to be insultive so they always guess low. How about the view of the Santa Clarita valley and the San Gabriel mountains from the skytower? What about the tunnel on Goliath that goes by in a split second but is over 70 feet long? What about that giggly feeling you get when you get to the top of the lift hill and start yelling NIPPLES! at the top of your lungs? What about the glitched techno music loop that plays while you're in line for Riddler's Revenge, and why is it so darned catchy? (You can find an mp3 online, search "Ecuador RR Mix by Sash!" What about that feeling you get when Superman finally launches and you drop the penny at the top of your ride? What about the quaintness of Revolution and how it was the most innovative coaster in the world when it was built? What about X? It doesn't need all that much explanation, it's just really freaking awesome!!! This is why I like SFMM, and I want to know what this community has to say. Thanks, Hector del BaƱo
