  1. ^ And honestly I'd watch yourself. Both sides of the issue have been really great about respecting each other and not making personal attacks. This thread has reached what, 215 pages.

I'd suggest us wrapping up this Prop 8 debate. Its going nowhere fast. That way the thread can return to what it was originally used for....

For 13 year old boys to say I'm gay!

And 9 year old boys to brag about the non-existing girlfriends.

    Thanks!

  2. ^ I'm not all too sure how it can affect an employee differently. I'd say just don't over think it. Your there as a park guest... so that's pretty much it! Play the role of a guest.

Though its well behind okay to go into backstage areas when not on the clock I'd highly suggest limiting yourself on doing such actions during an event such as WCB just for a series of avoidable issues.

So yeah, be a guest, pay the ticket price for WCB , and enjoy the event! If you have any specific questions or something feel free to PM me about them.

  3. mc_g ,

Hey! Six Flags Magic Mountain doesn't have a parent swap card. You can do it for all the attractions too. Just alert the ride operators that your doing a baby swap when the first one jumps on the ride and the other heads towards the exit. You should be fine.

As far as quiet areas go, the Sky Tower area always remains fairly quiet, with the exception of Tatsu flying by every now and then. Another quiet area is near Scream, there's a bunch of vending machines and grassy areas. This area is also a lot shadier then near Sky Tower.

I'd guess the crowds wouldn't be too big. Though it is near the beginning of peak season, its still March and all.

I'll tell you what I tell every guests who comes to me with the question of, "Should I get the flashpass for today?" On these days that are in the grey area. Just feel the park out first! No need to spend your money on something and then not need it. There is a no refund policy at Magic Mountain, so whatever you choose to spend your money on your stuck with. Whether you use it or not. So its always a good idea to do a walk around the park and just get a good idea on how the crowds are going to be.

    Hope this helped!

EDIT : Oh and to answer your question about which ticket to purchase I'd definitely say pay full price at the gate for $59.99. Its the same thing as a season pass! If you but any discounted ticket , enter the park and THEN want to upgrade its a flat $40.00 fee for the upgrade. No matter what ticket price it was.

When you buy the full priced ticket your get a long receipt. ( Which is actually your ticket ) . Just fill out all the information and go to the Season Pass processing center inside the park, and they can get you in and out with a season pass.

  4. If Magic Mountain management was making good business decisions it would be a more profitable amusement park, so I think it's fair to say all of these decisions have hurt the park, not helped.

Something tells me the Six Flags management team knows a tad bit more about making 'profitable choices' than you do. As they are able to see every situation at EVERY angle. Something that is impossible to do if you are in fact not them. And that goes for ALL management teams for every corporations.

And its "only fair to say these choices have hurt the park"? Based on what? Your unbacked assumption? Because the numbers speak in a different direction.

Not trying to call you out or anything. But I'd like to see some facts.

  5. ^ Seriously. That really sucks.

A park the size of magic mountain should either have multiple locations to which to file compliments, concerns, complaints, etc. Or staff more than 1 or 2 people at one counter.

I was really thinking about it the other day. Fact of the matter is, is that the park simply needs more staff. Simple as that. A lot of the major issues would clear up so fast. I think its safe to say that your average family expects Magic Mountain to be about on par with a park like Universal or Disney in terms of Guest : Worker ratio. Too bad its not even close.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying "just hire more staff and that's it". I know more than most people that that's an impossible task to do at the park. Just sayin'.

  6. I can confirm that there was never a re-ride policy. Being allowed to stay on a ride and not having to wait in line is a courtesy that ride ops don't have to do.

Somewhere along the years a lot of riders feel that they are entitled to staying on the ride. But for a great many different reasons ( usually unseen to guests ) this can not always be the case and you will be asked to exit the attraction.

I know Tatsu spiels "No Re rides " during the last few trains of the night. Even if there are empty seats. I can tell you by first hand experience we've had to send too many unneeded trains at closing due to the train consisting of more re-riders then first timers.

At that point you also have guests who think its unfair that others are already been able to pick their seat. Its a whole issue that if the crew CAN avoid if, they by all means will and should.
