  1. Didn't get to go.. when I tried to buy tickets online Friday evening for Saturday night they were sold out! Hopefully they will have the Terror Tram next year as it was what I was looking forward to the most.
  2. So what's up with the one train operation for Tatsu on a busy Saturday? I was there last Saturday and it was two train operation (it was DEFINATELY busy enough for 3 train operation-- I waited with a Flash Pash for over an hour).
  3. Went to Knott's twice so far this season.. still debating on whether or not $39 is worth the money for what Universal has to offer. I'm really curious but I feel like after I hit the Terror Tram and The Asylum there won't be anything else to do. I had an annual pass so I'm familiar with all their rides and the special shows sound like they are duds. I wish they had more compelling reasons to go!!!
  4. I'm curious as to what the general public thinks (or will think) of Universal's event this year. If there is less to do this year than in previous years (before their hiatus).. won't people be underwhelmed and give the event a bad rep? Has anyone overheard people complaining about or complimenting the event? What was the official reason for the hiatus? I never had the opportunity to go to their event when it was around but it sounds like people on here liked it. I was planning to go this Saturday but the various reviews have made me consider skipping it this year.. It doesn’t sound like the shows are anything to write home about so it would be $39 for two or three mazes with major waits for everything.
  5. Tatsu was the main thing I wanted people to ride and that worked like a charm with the Flash Pass. Other rides like Viper, Ninja, and Revolution were walk on. I think they waited 35 min or so for Superman. After that I bailed (because I was sick) and slept in the car while everyone else went on Psyclone, Scream, Goliath, and waited an hour for the bumper cars (!). X was closed and I heard Deja Vu had a long line. Overall I think it was a good Saturday to go to the park!
  6. We did go on 9/9 and at about 3:30pm or so the Flash Passes were still available. The park was definately less busy than it was in July when Flash Passes were selling out early.
  7. Anyone know the rules? Don't they usually give you a 5 minute break every hour or something in these coaster marathons? I would imagine they would have to provide food or drink of some sort unless they want people passing out..
  8. Hi all.. anyone have any recent sell-out times for the flash pass on Saturdays? Might be going with a small group on 9/9 but we won't be there until after 2. I know earlier in the summer the flash pass was sold out fairly early (before or around 2). Thanks.
  9. I assume the ride is still closed? Planning a trip with friends on Sep 9th.. hope X will be open by then. Also hope that the park won't be paved by then.
  10. Don't feel too bad. I too greyout on Batman and I almost blackout on Goliath every time. One time it was so bad that I was slightly disoriented and didn't realize what was happening for a second or two all I could hear was people screaming and the coaster noise. I notice that if I am hydrated and/or not on an empty stomach I take Goliath's helix much better.
  11. I think I'll stick with my original plan an do Beech Bend and SFKK in one day. Thanks for the suggestions. Beech Bend sounds kind of different and unique (if a bit dumpy) compared to the parks I've been to (primarily SoCal parks). Thanks. Any suggestions on which park (Beech Bend or SFKK) would be better to hit in the morning vs. afternoon?
  12. I'll consider staying in Louisville thanks.. though I think I'd rather drive at night than wake up early to drive to the parks (will be coming from PST). A few questions if anyone has suggestions: -Would most people prefer Beech Bend and SFKK instead of a full day at PKI? -If I do Beech Bend and SFKK in one day is it best to start at Beech Bend and end at SFKK (SFKK will be closing an hour later and opening at the same time given the timezone difference).. or would it be easier to get on all of the coasters at SFKK if I'm there right when it opens as opposed to getting there 4 hours before closing? I know that would be the case at my local SF park Magic Mountain (if the coasters open on time). -Is Flash Pass at SFKK available in the afternoon (at around 4pm) and is it that useful or is the park generally not that busy? Will probably be visiting on Labor Day. Thanks for any suggetsions!
  13. I sure am a n00b.. THANKS! Looking at http://www.sunrisesunset.com/calendar.asp it seems the days I'm going (sep 3nd, 4th) the sunset might be about 7:15 or so for Santa Claus. Probably won't be getting entirely dark until a bit after that.. thanks everyone.
  14. The first day I'm in the Louisville area HW closes at 8pm and the second day they close at 6pm. Anyone know if gets dark by 8pm? If not I'll probably go to HW on the second day. Menefee thanks for the Schnitzelbank suggestion.. may or may not go though because I'm borderline veggie!
  15. Thanks for the suggestions!! I'll definately keep it in mind when planning the hotels to book.
  16. Hi I'll be flying into Louisville to visit Holiday World for the first time. Was wondering if it was worth spending half a day (or more) at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom to hit all the coasters there using my Six Flags season pass. Also are there any other rides worth hitting at nearby parks (Kentucky Rumbler?) given the short 2 days? I know some parks are a few hours away but I'm not sure if 2 days is enough time to do all that if The Voyage is as good as people say it is! Thanks!
