  1. I never understood why the Cubs apparently beat Miami around 5:00 in the afternoon... who's scheduling these 2:00 games in 2015? It is obvious, they were in California so if the game was in Miami it started at 5:00 PM. That happens. Right?
  2. Here is an article by Cracked which used to be the low rent Mad Magazine competitor, and is now just a website. Lots of everybody's favorites with the obligatory Theme Park Review video used from You Tube with no credit given. http://www.cracked.com/article_15955_9-most-baffling-theme-parks-from-around-world.html
  3. ^ Sorry to say it Tim, but unlike the great state of Pennsylvania, we have no beer distributors in Michigan. You are on your own to track down the best beer selection in each area you travel to (and boy can it vary) there isn't a convenient gigantic beer superstore. You actually had a better chance of finding good beer in Grand Rapids than in most parts of the state. The upside is you don't have to buy in the quantities that you do in Penn. If you drove to GR you missed some great breweries on the east side of the state. Glen
  4. Today Show Video The president of Universal Oralndo did an interview on the Today show and while describing it he mentions restaurants, shops and 3 different atrractions. Assuming they retheme Dragons that only leaves 2 more new attractions to be added.
  5. Has any one else seen this List from Men's journal? It is supposed to be the 25 best beers in America. I have only tried about 5 of them, and they were good, but I am wondering if anyone else has tried them all (Derek perhaps?) and could direct me to the highlights.
  6. That truck is Dope Yo. I just had some slow motion lights installed on my whip last week. It is just the thing you need to drive from the In-N-Out on Blackstone to the New In-N-Out on Blackstone. Fresno Pride! Viva La Raza!
  7. OMG how did I forget Out of Control with Dave Coulier! Cut It Out! Man this thread is bringing back memories. I also found a site http://johnnorrisbrown.com/classic-nick/outofcontrol/index.htm that has all of them listed, just enough to spark old memories.
  8. I must be the oldest person to read this topic because the Classic Nick shows I remember were things like Turkey TV, Danger Mouse, Today's Special (the show about the manequin that came to life every night), and Count Duckula. All the classic stuff you guys are talking about came on as I was leaving nick, or well after I left. Thanks for making me feel super old. Get it right or pay the price, Budnick. Oh yeah Salute your shorts=Totally Radical Dude!
  9. ^I enjoy a good Oberon as much as the next guy (I went to college on the west side of the state, and Oberon day was almost an official holiday), the problem I had with this bar was they were still running a summer varietal n December, and the bartender had no idea when it was tapped. Oberon can be a yeasty little bitch when it is fresh and does not age well. I tend to think that is what specials are for, to clear this stuff out. Unfortunately they only have 5 taps and Oberon is being replaced by a special winter budweiser beer. it is going to be a long winter
  10. I had 2 wonderful Great Lakes Christmas Ales at a bar on my way home while discussing why they still had Bell's Oberon on tap with the bartender. I came home and continued the holiday theme. There certainly is a lot to celebrate with this beer.
  11. On John Dvorak's Blog Found this today with no mention of where the video came from, looks like it has been posted on some video share site named Heavy. EDIT I left a comment and now they updated the post and linked back to TPR.
  12. Child's Play I don't know if anyone has ever heard of Penny Arcade, but it is a comic about video games that I happen to like to read. The guys who write it also run a charity that supplies video games to Children's hospitals across the globe called Child's Play. I have always donated myself, but this year they finally added the Children's Hospital I work at so I am going the extra mile to get the word out. Look for your local hospital on the list, and if they don;t have one near you send the stuff my way and donate to Children's Hospital of Michigan in lovely downtown Detroit (now with more Robocops!) Thanks for reading about the sick kids!
  13. Let the lurking come to an end! Finally my first post. This might be old news but I couldn't find it anywhere here. We went to wedding near Grayling last weekend and this was all the talk. Link to story Arial map of proposed location I did a little digging and the company they mention Axiom seems to be some sort of video production/promotions company. I found their mission statement: Knowing this area of Michigan I believe that this might do slightly better than Six Flags Auto World in Flint. It is good tourist traffic in the summer, but the winter doesn't lend itself to weekend trips with frequent blizzard conditions and only one way in or out on I-75, unless the theme it for Ice fishing and snowmobiles. Either way if it gets built it will be interesting to see what they put in.
