Sant Narcís Fair (Girona - Spain)
Trevor replied to Trevor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Finally last night we went on the Mystery Hotel My thoughts... it was terribly awful!! First of all, as expected, the 3D projection didn't have any relation with the "story" of the ride.... it was a standard egypcian mystery 3D animation film!!! Featuring some water sprays inside the elevator, and also some seat vibes.... then, the elevator goes up, and in each floor there are some "paintings" on the wall.... several of them were of the actual Tower of Terror from Florida!! The drop was so fake.... it was not dropping "by gravity", it was a hydraulic platform that drops fast but no airtime at all. Well... one more experience in our bag! Yes! The layout was the same!! The classics never die! This year there was no V coaster and other rides. Also several rides were relocated. -

Well, I just came from the fair now, and I post you my review! Today is a very, very cold day here in Girona, but that is no problem to the lots of massive crowds that were visiting it! I will make the review a little different from the last year one, because most of the rides are the same, so I will focus on "other things".... I've to advice you that this fair is full of repeated rides and unlicensed characters! First of all, this fair is located in the Devesa park, in Girona (Catalonia, Spain) [100km form Barcelona]. Is a huge green park full of trees, than are more than 40 meters tall! The fair is divided in the adults area and the children area. You'll see it in detail in the review. In the park is also located the concerts area with lots of little bars of differents associations of the city, where you can eat or drink. You can see the park here: http://maps.google.es/maps?q=devesa+girona&ll=41.98787,2.819806&spn=0.003434,0.004823&fb=1&gl=es&hq=devesa&hnear=0x12bae6959d1e974d:0x400fae021a469c0,Girona,+Catalunya&cid=0,0,11076313206587311749&t=h&z=18&iwloc=A The stage All the area next to the stage is full of little bars. You can see the Girona's Cathedral in the back The concerts area. You can see the bars all over the place. This area is really FULL of people late at night... if I took the same pick you won't be able to see the floor!! I see something between the trees.... All the fair area is also full of little food parades. In this case, you can see "Castanyes", a typical spanish food in this time Lots and lots of crowds today! We go to the child area and this is our first ride... ok, I've counted 3 of this ride in the children area, spaced every 50 meters... sweets!! More spanish typical food Mini frog hopper Mini Ferrys Wheel Bumper cars nº1 Bumper cars nº2 (yes, this ride was 20 meters away from the last bumper cars) Oh! A Disney train coaster.... let's look in detail... UNLICENSED MICKEY MOUSE TRAIN COASTER Nº1!!! Fun House nº1 THE UNLICENSED MICKEY MOUSE TRAIN COASTER Nº2!!!! 100% made in Spain Lots of lights in the unlicensed Mickey Mouse train coaster nº2! Fun House nº2 Bumper cars nº3.... A 3D Halloween dark ride!! People from Inside Circuit Cars nº1... THE UNLICENSED SPRITE RIDE!!! Of course the name of the ride was "SPRIT" Inside the bottle has a soft surface that goes round and makes the children happy! Family roller coaster Bumper cars nº4... (relax... there are lots more to come lol) Children cars nº2 Circuit cars nº2 Mini rodeo ride! Notice the lady in black was doing a choreography and all the children did the same, the fact was trying not to fall off the buffalo! UNLICENSED SIMPSONS FLAT RIDE!!! Ponny Ride..... Ok! So now let's take a look to the adult area, where the amazing ride are! First stop.... BOOSTER XXL! THROUGHT THE TREESSS!!! a Fabbri demon ride! Pics doesn't make justice.... it's freaking amazing to see this huge ride going very fast throught the trees! At the top you can see all the Devesa park from above and a very nice views from Girona! Riders about to have fun! Booster working It's one of the most spectacular location for this ride! Inverted frog hopper nº1 I can see some coasters in the back... let's see Spinning coaster! Wild mouse With a surprise section! The cat is EATING YOU!! Lift hill erotic shot Lift hill porn shot! Some other rides for children... Inverted coaster! This is an inverted wild mouse with a splash section! Each train has a button, and you can choose if you want to get a pneumonia or just a cold.... Splash section!! Rodeo family ride! Fun House nº3 Some other children rides... Bumper cars nº5!!!! Lots of crowds The cold weather was not a problem for anybody! I don't know the name of this ride, but anyway that was the number 1. I don't understand why they put repeated rides on the same fair!! Buffalo ride for adults This ride always have the same typical music that goes to the beat of the ride. I don't know if this only happens in Spain lol More buffalo fun! Frog hopper nº3 Terror walk throught! And now, everybody... the ride you've been waiting for.... the hightlight of the fair.... THE UNLICENSED TOWER OF TERROR FAIR VERSION!!!! Once you step into the elevator, you put this 3D glasses on. And when the doors close... the elevator starts to go up! .... to the first floor, where a 3D film is projected. I've not still been on the ride so I can't tell you what is about. Do yo imagine a knock off from the really Tower of Terror preshow or something like that? jaja Then, the elevator rises to the top of the tower, where is a window (without doors...). People can see the outside before dropping down!! Here you see the elevator at the top! It's a 24 meters tall structure! The doors closed from the station, waiting for the elevator to drop If we move to the side.... we can see the laundry service of the hotel! lol More rides! This one is Alcatraz, a "rainbow" jail that goes up and down very fast! The huuuge ferrys wheel!!! It's really impressive! And the LED lighting is really amazing! Here is a flat ride.... inversion here's a coaster! With electric tires in each train it goes up and the it goes down! blurry... brakes nerd shot The last curve Here's another flat... Terror dark ride nº2 Evil gorila! The ride that I don't remember the name nº2!! This is veeeery typical spanish! Inverted frog hopper nº2!! Top Scan! Flat ride that everything goes round... Where all other years was located the huge ferrys wheel,, this year we find this family coaster. It's family coaster nº2! Frog hopper nº5!!! loots of crowds whip ride Are you hungry? Paella!! Lots of food in here Fun house nº.... well, I don't remember! Here's a view with the top scan in the back Well.... that's the end of the review... but finally.... THE UNLICENSED PLUTO BALLOON SELLER!!! -

Rattle on Shambhala? that definitely doesn't exist. Is the smoothest ride of the park, thousands and thousands of people, and myself can corroborate it. I think it's a paranoya to find fails on a ride that is almost perfect. -

Finally we've got the chance to see all the new area at night. Shambhala train has orange LEDs in the front, plus the white ligths from the ridercam. Also the sides of the trains have lights, but they're not working yet. Source: pa-community. And now... the splash!! -

Here you can see a funny review with some good reverse POV's. Notice the intense airtime in the speedhill. I'm sure B&M will include more in all their new designs. http://www.telecinco.es/salvame/2012/junio/06-06-2012/Salvame-Port-Aventura_3_1627667292.html -

From all the comments that I've read from people who has been on other B&M coasters in EEUU and Europe, they said that Shambhala is THE BEST of all them. New elements, great interaction between the coaster and the theming, great splash, lots of airtime... could it be the best B&M of 2012? -

Anyway, this is the first B&M that I see doing a pull through. Has anybody pics or references of that process in another B&M? Will they test only the lift or the entire layout? -
