It's swapping. While there are certainly some area of neglect at SFMM, park ops are generally pretty good, and customer service has improved a lot. While at Knott's, they have more guests than they can handle, and the ops generally aren't very good anymore.1 point

(My choice years would have been 1990 - 2005'ish, minus September, 2001... but the rides are great today.)1 point
