okinawaboy11 Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 Rides Closed: JJ Riddle Me This Batwing (On and Off) High Seas Swings Typhoon Sea Coaster (Opened for about 2 Hours) Avalanche (The ops were there, the ride was fine, they just didn't feel like openeing, they were fooling around, giving us attitude when we walked into the queue) And then Superman with 1 Train operation. Ok I started in Germantown MD as usual (if any of you know where that is, GOOGLE IT! ). Took the metro to Largo Town Center (45ish minutes) and then waited for the C22 bus to come to take me to Six Flags (About 20 minutes). Arrived at the park at like 10 EXACTLY. Let us in, held us off till 1030. Skipped the big dancing and Anthem, did the key, park open ect. ect. Went straight to Roar as everyone rushed to Superman (Half of them went the wrong way. I love laughing at them! hehehe). Roar: Ok Roar same ol' same ol'. BUT. New black train. And boyyy does it make the ride A LOT better. I rode it again later in the day with the green train and OUCH the entire ride was painfull. The last turn has really improved, that is, with the black train. Two Face: What can I say? I love the Vekoma Invertigo. I love how it pull's so many G's on the return run. And the entire Face 2 Face thing was a brilliant Idea. I got to watch my friends reaction the entire time (She was scared $hitless). Wild One: You know what surprises me...SFA actually has a Classic coaster on their hands. Every time I visit the park, I always look forward to this coaster. It's so smooth and airtime filled. The station is nice with all the facts and the original car. Batwing:: This is were we encountered our first problem. The line was into the about one switch back (under the awning) With one train op. Yeah Six Flags what ever happened to the 2 station operation when the season first started. I knew this would happen. Anywho, like 20 minutes later in and soaked from rain, we get on. Vekoma Flying Dutchman's are great rides. I enjoy them as much as B&M Flyers. But one thing, when you get stuck for 30 minutes in the station in the laying down position, your back gets sore. And your shoulder blades start to hurt from the design of the seat. Yup, after our ride, we pulled into the station, smoke came from a "brick" (Maybe he was trying to say block) said one of the op's, and the seats wouldn't recline up. We sat, for about 30 minutes, before a mechanic came and unlocked our seats and we had to like...slide out of them because they were still in the reclined position. Superman: Ok, I'm reallllly getting tired of this coaster. It isn't fun anymore, and it's starting to actually get uncomfortable. It has the Intamin rattle at the bottom of the first hill and in the Helix's. Oh yeah, one train operation. Which was actually ok since there were NO waits all day. The park was a ghost town. (HH sucked up the people, Heat index was 100 +) Uh enough with coasters...the rest of the day. Typhoon Sea Coaster When this ride is actually open, it's really fun. The turntable and backwards part is really fun. And the tunnel and part where your just flowing down the..trough shall we call it, is nice and calm. And the main large drop is nice and big. Rest of the day. We rode mostly all the rides with no waits. Longest was Batwing at 20 and then Superman at 5 with one train. All other coasters were walk-on's. Over all, the park hasn't really change. The op's are getting in to there rude, "I don't want this job" phase for the summer. although, some of the employees at the games were REALLY enthusiastic. The day got a B- for the short lines and game ops. If the lines were long, it would prolly get a D.
