Costakid Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Just got back from my Grad Night at Disneyland. No photos as I didn't want to worry about my camera. Anway, here goes. We got into Disneyland about 11:30pm, and they dropped the ropes to Tommorow land shortly after. Our small group decided to look like idiots and make a break for Space Mountain. We ended up getting on the 3rd train out. "Rock It" mountain was good. This was a my second ride on the new Space Mountain, but my first on "Rock It" mountain. We were all digging the music they were playing, but I still miss the Dick Dale soundtrack. For Grad Night, they injected new intro audio, congradulating the Class of 06 and such. Still my favorite ride at Disneyland. On our way out of Tommorow Land, we rode Buzz and Star Tours. Star Tours is still a classic, a bit outdated, and only good for one ride, but a fun ride to make fun of. We had a lot of fun on Buzz, although we all sucked. We then made our way to Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, and Tea Cups. All very nostalgic rides. The train thing on Mr. Toad still gets me. We caught up with another group of friends and headed to Big Thunder. Our train got to the beggining of the first lift, and stopped. It turns out that someone was trying to highfive a person on another train whilst on the station platform. The ride-op stopped the ride, and then the computer wouldn't let them restart the ride. We walked out of the ride and went to Splash Mountain. Still a great ride. Next, we wandered over to Indiana Jones, but it broke down before we could get on the ride. We got some food and ate it on the Jungle Cruise. We got a pretty good skipper, who made some good jokes, and even pulled of a Broke Back Mountain joke. We all wanted to ride SM and Buzz again, so we headed over to Tommorow Land. We hit Buzz, and walked toward Space Mountain. We got some drinks, and fooled around with the water ball thing in the plaza. Then came the highlight of the night. I told my friend Byrant I would buy him a churro if he could jump and slide over top of the giant water ball in the plaza. The first time, he got a large running start, and didn't get much of a jump. He hit the ball and bounced back off of it. He tried again, and did the same thing, only he fell down this time. At this point, everyone is laughing their asses of. We decided to get the ball rolling and then he would jump on top and ride the ball over the top. Well he did it, and it was the funniest thing ever, he did it twice, and he earned his churro. We hit SM, and hit Autopia. It is so great if you don't stear and let the car just jump around all over the track. We walked back to the end of Tommorow land and decided to ride the Astro Orbiter. This was the suprise ride of the night. It was really fun, with a fun, relaxing ride at the top of the cycle (it was misting/raining all night, but just enough to keep you cool) and some fun forces at the bottom. We then headed to the Matterhorn, which was only running the Submarine side. An incredibly rough ride, but I love the pop of airtime on that side, and the ride is pretty fun. We did the Alice in Wonderland ride, and the Tea Cups once more. Then we hit BTM, and Indiana Jones, and were able to get on both with no problems. We got some more food and ate it, again, on Jungle Cruise. We had the same skipper, and my friend got a sticker from the skipper for having a decent comeback. He didn't use all of the same jokes, but my favorite is still the "extremely tall leopards". We sat down for a while with another group of friends, and hit Space Mountain, Buzz, and Astro Oriber (x2). As well, Bryant rolled over the ball again, which I got video of on my phone. I'll post the video here when I figure out how to e-mail it off my phone. Then, the girls wanted to dance, so we walked on the main stage thing. The girls danced, and we stood around and talked for a few minutes, and decided to go back to SM and Buzz again. We did Buzz 3 times in a row, and 3 of us were able to break 200,000. Then, we did SM 3 times in a row. We all did Astro Orbiter one final time, and walked out to the buss. At this point, I had been up for more than 24 hours, and after sitting on the buss for a few minutes, I felt the full effects of that. The buss left DL at about 6:15, and we got back to the school about 7:30. Overall, we all had a great time. Fooling around with friends, no lines, and good rides makes for a good night.
ElBlufer Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Sounds like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, my high school got off of the list this year, and we may not be able to get back in before I am a senior. You really did get a lot of good rides in!
B.Toast Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 I hope you enjoyed Rock It Mountain. I want to really see what its like myself. But Middle Schoolers from San Jose don't get to go to DL for grad night
