Ed Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 This is sort of a trip report and not in a way.. I went to Flamingoland yesterday and it was freezing for a start, the wind was insane! Now we were promissed Kumali would be "as smooth as a baby's bottom"... And it's not. There is a touch of headbanging especially at the back. The middle is probably the best ride because it's quite smooth really all the way round, and the front gives you a right kicking coming out of the Cobra Roll. Velocity is a Vekoma Motorbike model which can really hurt guys if you don't position yourselfs correctly! It was my first time on and the ride-op really stapled me down and I found myself in blinding pain before the ride had even begun! The actually launch was quite fun leaning forwards and the course wasn't rough at all... It was just the fact that my manhood was being crushed from start to finish. Now honestly who the hell designed the Motorbike ride, surely some women who got cheated on by her boyfriend! The Corkscrew... Isn't too bad if you stick your head as far out of the restraints as you can. The Lost River ride which circles around the Lion enclosure at Flamingoland (It has a rather interesting Zoo with Tigers, Meerkats and Peacocks) gets you absolutely soaked! The boat is slowed down at the bottom of the drop by magnetic brakes so the splash lands right ontop of you. Really not fun on a cold April afternoon. But poncho's rule! Helped so much to keep me dry. There might be some photos coming from somewhere of Kumali & the park. It was a Coasterforce-Live trip and we had some ERT on Kumali before the day began. UK trippers beware of the Motorbike.. And the ride-ops... They were literally jumping onto the restraints to try and get this girls backpad to go down one more click. And you could see she wasn't happy. Overall they were quite rude at times, I bought a donut from a stall (real nice jam doughnut not a horrible fried one) and I wasn't allowed to bring it into this coffee place which I had just come of it to find some food because they didn't serve any! The older the staff got the more grumpy they were. Although it has to be said the female staff were far more jolly and talk-a-tive than the men. Overall it was a fairly wierd day. The weather was "bi-sexual" and couldn't make up it's mind between Sun / Rain and some of the rides didn't open until well into the afternoon. The train journey's tired me out a bit... 5.55am train from Manchester! And we got back in at about 8.05pm.. Oh yeah and the park randomly shut an hour earlier than it should have done. The park is starting to look really nice and it's definately becoming more of a themepark than the carnival feel you got when Magnum Force and The Bullet was there. (The Coasterforce Forum head-boss-"the don" guy got one of the wheels off The Bullet from the Flamingoland people... Ebay haha.
chavslayer Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I went on Velocity last year, the first time i went on it was great but the second time was one of the most painfull experiences ive had on a ride! The launch was great but just after the on ride photo my nuts got totally crushed and the pain did not let up till the end of the ride.
