Twister II Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I need to find a better battery for my video camera. I have a Panasonic PV-GS19 (http://www.mediacollege.com/equipment/panasonic/camera/pv-gs/images/pvgs19.jpg) and the battery that came with it is crap. I charge it for a week before I went to California, and I only taped 10 minutes of getting to Cali, and 5 minutes (if even) at SFMM and it died! So a total of 15 minutes of recording and dead! This was the same with DLR, KBF, and DCA. I really need a new battery, any suggestions? Something that will actually last 5 to 10 hours? The battery now says its a Li-ion/Panasonic Battery Pack.
dubaidave Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 Hi, I have a panasonic camera similar to yours. I bouht a battery that lasts around 7 hours. I will get the details of it tomorow and let you know. The only time i have run it flat was at Tokyo Disneyland!.
Carnage Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 If you go into a camera store they should have a number of batteries with varying lenght and cost. Having at least a couple batteries is pretty much required. I've got the stock battery(2 hours I think) and a 5 hour battery. I can totally use up both batteries in a day at a park. The battery probably won't last as long as it says it does in real world situations I find. Well it does, but if it says 2 hours, that's not 2 hours worth of footage. Viewing video, time spent with it on but not filming, etc will drain the battery while you're not filming.
