Greenland, one of the largest amusement parks in western Japan, will introduce a new roller coaster that is rare even in Japan, around spring 2028.

A new roller coaster will be launched at Greenland, an amusement park in Kumamoto Prefecture, around spring 2028. Greenland Resort announced this on the 8th.

The coaster planned for introduction is a "hybrid coaster" (tentative name). It is a rare type in Japan, consisting of steel supports and a wooden track. It will be the first roller coaster to be introduced in Kyushu.

The total length is 620.8 meters and is made in the United States. Construction will be carried out by Sanoyas Ride Corporation, headquartered in Osaka. The official name and detailed specifications will be announced as soon as they are finalized.

This will be the first large-scale attraction in 16 years since Star Flyer Goku, which was introduced in 2012, and the first coaster in 21 years since the Black Hole Coaster, which was introduced in 2007.

It was also announced that Ultra Twister Megaton, which had been suspended since 2020, will cease operations.

Greenland is an amusement park in Midorigaoka, Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture. With a site area of 550,000 square meters, it is known as one of the largest in Western Japan, covering approximately 11 Tokyo Domes. In addition to roller coasters, it offers a total of 72 attractions, including shooting games, water rides, and haunted houses, making it the largest in Japan for children and seniors.

The on-site pool facility, Water Park, is also open during the summer. During nighttime hours, the park will also host a "Wonder illumination" event, where over 100 illumination spots will light up.
