CoasterXtreme Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Hi I was just wondering if the new expansion packs will acctually increase my framerate because I have a Radeon 9800 which should run the game just fine but anytime i get more than 3 rides in view the images are very jerky. I don't think my computer should have a problem with having more than 3 rides in view i have a 2.80Ghz and a good video card so I don't think it should be this jerky. Do the expansion packs improve the framerate a little bit?
FlyingScooter Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 when I got rct3, i had to do and upgrade for it to run. Then Soaked came out, didn't support GeForce4000mx cards. I needed a new 'puter anyway, so i got one with a decent card and a gig and a half of ram. The increased Ram helped the FPS's. i think the vid card had nothing to do with it. Haven't purchased Wild yet, haven't heard enough about it and no place in the Cleveland area even has it. i've heard BattleField 2 is awesome, though.
kenshinmac Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Seems even smoother to me... I just got wild and it certainly doesn't hurt things. It also allows you to change transitions from day to night to instantaneous which was one of the things that caused serious framerate drops in the previous versions. I'll keep watching it and keep you updated.
ShoubraStreet74 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 With my old GeForce FX 5900 (128mb) it was generally ok but with some low fps when viewing lots of stuff at once. With my new Geforce 6800GT (256mb) everything runs fine with no noticeable frame rate issues. Beyond 1GB of RAM shouldn't make more difference in most cases (I have 1GB) Most of the performance is video-card based. Anyway, I didn't notice much improvement after adding Soaked, and from the various reviews/articles I've read, it doesn't really improve the FPS that much. Individual experiences may vary though, but that's the idea I seem to get from what I've seen.
