Oh boy, I've wanted to do one of these for a while...

Hello, everyone.

France has a few pretty good theme parks. Parc Asterix, Disneyland Paris (or Eurodisney, I've always called it that since it opened), Futuroscope, Jardin d'Acclimation... They're great, but my favorite is Parc Penhallow. While not having the best rides or theming, though they're both pretty solid. But you can have a sucky park, but if your guests enjoy their day there then it's a sign that, in my opinion, you've built a good park.

The park's gone through a lot throughout the years. Financial issues, incidents, and it's even gone SBNO for a while. And throughout all of it, the park's survived and still stands strong to this day, which I admire.

Thank you for joining me here today, as I will be going over the entire history of the park.

1988

In 1988, the Beverama group was experiencing success with their one and only park, Parc Geode. But things were going wrong. The company knew that the park's popularity could diminish soon, and they needed more money. So, with the money they had, they decided to start working on a new park.

They had their eyes on a manmade quarry also in France for a while. However, they eventually found a new site, across the country and near Mont Blanc.

They managed to get the new site and started planning. It was a medium-sized park, with 9 areas themed around countries in Europe. Said countries would be France (naturally), Spain, Germany, Norway, Italy, England, Greece, Portugal, and Austria, and there would also be an entrance area which, while having Icelandic influences, would not be themed to any country in particular.

The park would have many rides, mostly for thrillseekers, with 6 roller coasters; a custom Vekoma coaster, two wooden roller coasters, a Vekoma Mine Train and MK-1200, and the park's main attraction; a custom Schwarzkopf terrain coaster. However, during planning, things would change.

1990

In 1990, a major incident at Parc Geode occured. A fire would start in a restaurant, and before it could be controlled it spread to the park's indoor area, Adventureland. This was a big blow to the park and Beverama itself, as Adventureland's rides and theming cost a lot of money, and plans for their new park would have to be changed due to budget cuts.

The Germany, Greece, and Italy areas were cut from the plan, as well as the rides in them and other rides and attractions around the park. These cut rides included the Vekoma mine train and the Schwarzkopf terrain coaster. One of the park's wooden coasters, built by CCI, would take the terrain coaster's place as the park's main attraction.

Eventually, the plans would go through, and construction would begin in 1991.
