phazan
Hey everyone! i made this nolimits track called Mt.Madness. it is a b&m standup and has a volcano theme. i worked hard on this track so here it is... note: before you ride this track you must change the weather to light or heavy fog to make the ride cool! edit: i took the screen shots before i changed the supports around so the supports are not as bad as they look. Blazen_AZN
hey, i like it, noce setting especially, but you should try heartlining your coaster, it makes your zero g-rolls alot smoother, other then that great job
phazan
^thanks i have never heard of heartlining and i dont remember seeing it in the help page that tells you how to build the coasters. what is it?
Blazen_AZN
in NL, click display, then check 'show heartline' now a yellow line appears over the track, that would be approx where your heart would be when riding the coaster, or, your heartline. What [good] coasters try to do when banking is rotate your body around that central point, so cyntrifical force has no affect on you. in NL, when banking, ( including zero g rolls and barrel rolls) you want to make it so that that central line does not move, but the train moves around it. so if your riding on top of the track, and you rolled to your right you would need to have the track drift left and your elevation to increase. im having trouble explaing this... so i made an example (can you tell im really bored right now? so open the track and make shure 'show heartline' is checked... the first barrel roll is heartlined, the second is not, make sure you look at it from all angles, top, left/right, and from the front/back, and im sure you'll get the idea esf.nltrack there ya go Edited October 19, 2005 by Blazen_AZN

riddler
Very good coaster for a first one, but, you made the many mistakes a 1st time person does. No heartlining is a biggie, really try and work on that. There are many tools you can harness to help make your tracks much better, they can be found at coaster candy http://d1jlserver.dnsalias.net/CCDev2/pub_files.cfm?cid=300 and gravemetric studios http://www.gravimetricstudios.com/index.cfm . One of the tools i highly recommend is the Nolimits elementary, a relitively simple program, it can help you make helixes, 0-G rolls, Barrel Rolls and Just about everything else! Back to the ride: I liked the layout and the idea, but the track work wasnt grade A. Just keep expirementing and you'll definately start to get better. Try your hand at creating a wooden coaster, they are usually much easier to create, and are known to have bumps, you can also use the autosupport feature they have for wooden coasters. Finally, make your transport blocks (Ex: Station, Brake Run) straight by pressing the I key. But be warned, if you have two of these sections connected directly, it will often make 1 straight, and the other curved, look in the attatchment to see what i mean. Good Luck!
