[NL2] Rovdjuret

Hey all!

I'm not as new here as it might seem. But it is a long time since I logged in here and I simply forgot my password.

Anyway; let me introduce you to Rovdjuret*!

This is a roller coaster concept, made in NoLimits 2, that I've thought of for a while. Finally I had the time to make it!

I have always been drawn towards compact coasters. I just like the look and feel of a small coaster, that still packs a punch. But the thing about compact coasters is that they're... well, small. And therefore short.

So I wanted to make a small coaster, that didn't feel small. I wanted to make a coaster with a footprint that would fit in almost any park, but at the same time offer a ride experience that previously were exclusive to larger, more expensive roller coasters.

And the result?

Rovdjuret

An overview of Rovdjurets layout

This coaster has a footprint of 126 x 39 m and has a ride length of over 1000m.

I know what you think... "The coaster above is not over 3000 ft!". And you are correct.

However, I wrote "ride length", not "track length". In order to make a great ride, the trains on Rovdjuret makes two full circuits around the track. This means over 1000 m of twisted coaster glory, eight inversions and two launches!

I'm guessing your next thought is "Alright, that's cool. But the hourly capacity will suck..."

While that is a legit question, I think I've solved that too.

As you can see in the above picture, the station is detached from the track. This makes it possible for one train to make two fantastic laps around the track, while a second train is unloading and loading in the station.

And as if that isn't enough, there is yet another space and money-saving feature; the launch and brake section is the same. This allows an even more compact ride, while having the same ride and safety features of a larger coaster.

"Okey, you have something here. But how does it work?"

The easiest way to find that out is to watch the POV below.

As I can't figure out how to upload the coaster here, and Nolimits-exchange is down, the coaster is undownloadable for now... I'll update this when it's fixed!

I hope you enjoy the ride!

That was pretty cool! I clicked on the video link before reading the description, so I got a little surprise. As the ride approached the end I thought the switch tracks were needlessly complicated, but I didn't expect it to go around twice without stopping, so that was pretty sweet. If you add flanges to the supports and a couple of trees it will look a lot better.

I also like the name. No translation needed for me...
