I'm planning a Florida trip for next year and the wife and I will end up with two days in Orlando. Right now we're not planning on renting a car in Orlando (the main portion of a trip is a cruise out of Port Canaveral) so we're planning on being dependent on shuttles. Current plan is that we're going to spend a full day at Epcot, and then take a second day just to get a quick sample of Hollywood Studios, Wild Animal, and (probably the least important to me) the Magic Kingdom. Considering that I'm looking at doing three parks in a single day, how quick is it to move between them? Also for those of you who have done it, is this completely unreasonable? I realize I'm not going to get a full experience in a single day, I'm more so looking for a glimpse at what the other parks have.

I would allow 30-45 minutes to get between the parks. While it may not take that long, you might happen to get to the bus loop right after you've just missed a bus, for example, and some of the parks you want to go between, like Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, are on total opposite parts of the property.

I would actually recommend the following:

Park 1 - Animal Kingdom (GET THERE FOR OPENING!) and knock out Kilimanjaro, Everest, and Dinosaur.

Park 2- Hollywood Studios - Do Tower, Coaster, Great Movie Ride, and possibly Star Tours if you've never done the new version at any other park.

Part 3 - Magic Kingdom - Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Celebrate The Magic

Am I assuming this is your first ever trip to Walt Disney World? What types of attractions do you like? Coasters? Dark Rides? Shows?

While I know that you said Magic Kingdom is your least important, don't discount some of the VERY cool and unique attractions and shows they have to offer like Celebrate the Magic and Enchanted Tales with Belle, and of course you have the best Space Mountain of all of them!

Be sure to check the schedules. Epcot is always open until 9pm, but often times MK will be open until 11pm. Make sure you choose your 3-parks-in-one-day day when MK is open the latest!

I'm a fan of all of it to be honest, but with Disney I tend to move towards the dark rides. This is one of those deals where we are actually heading to Orlando for a cruise that leaves on Monday. I figured that we might as well swing out early and spend a few days at Disney as neither of us have ever been there. I fully understand that I'm not going to get the full experience in only two days, so I'm looking at this as more of a sampling trip. Overall thought I like the plan you've laid out there. Looking way ahead it looks like Magic Kingdom will have extra magic hours on the Saturday we're there, so I'm thinking that we can take advantage of that.

I grew up in LA and went to Disneyland all the time. Even now I still am there at least once every other year. Considering that this is going to really be a chance just to peak at all the parks, Magic Kingdom seems like it would have the least to offer me. That being said, I still want to see it, and in a perfect world wish I could spend some more time there.

^ That will make your day even easier! If you've been to Disneyland before, I would most certainly hit up the "new to you" attractions, and absolutely go to the EMH at Kingdom.

I'd actually suggest you book your FP+ for Studuos as Tower and Coaster can be long lines. You could always do Mania & Tower FP and do single rider on Coaster.

For Magic Kingdom I would absolutely hit Space, Thunder, Mansion, Splash, as I feel they are all improvements over the DL versions. You'll miss the music and theming of Space, but OMG, it will be the most airtime you'll find on a Disney coaster! Try to get a very front or very back seat ride (or both!)

As for attractions and shows NOT at DL, I'd be sure to see Celebrate the Magic (night time castle show), Enchanted Tales, Seven Dwarfs, Carousel of Progress, Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, Peoplemover.

Everything else is either on par or not quite as good. I personally like the WDW Pirates better, but it's because I'm not a fan of the ride and I like the shorter version better because it means it's over quicker!

Other good "maybes" at the other parks would be the Nemo show at DAK, and Primeval Whirl if you're a credit whore. At Studios other than Mania I can't think of anything else I'd recommend to someone that is limited on time (but if you had more time, go see the Frozen show!)

Epcot really is the crown jewel of WDW. Any chance you're coming during Food & Wine?

I wish I was there for wine and food. We're going to be out in April and I think wine and food is in October.

I appreciate the help!
