terror-dactyl ride

Recommended Posts

The ride seems to use only a single steel cable. What happens if this cable breaks? There does not appear to be a safety cable. A single steel cable is subject to hydrogen embrittlement , (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_embrittlement) which can be easily caused by an accidental electrical spark against the cable, or by a lightning strike.

Is their a safety device backing-up this single cable in event of a failure of this cable?

Thanks,
