GrapesLie Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 For anyone who has spent time in Branson you will find this a bit sad. For those who haven't heard of it if you've driven to SDC before or ridden Thunderation you can't miss seeing their huge Inspiration Tower and Zip Line! Sad day.
cfc Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Those big, local-history productions have been dying off for years. Williamsburg used to have shaow called "Common Glory" at the old Lake Matoka Amphitheatre at the College of William and mary, but it's been dark for years (and the theatre became a ruin). They still have "Unto these Hills" in Cherokee and "The Lost Colony" on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. "Common Glory," which included an actual ship, was a "specatacle" about the founding of Jamestown and was meant to give tourists something to do during summer nights at a time when the 'Burg was even sleepier than it is now. But other attractions, such as Busch Gardens, were built, and the play's audiences dwindled.
