coaster_type_of_person Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 Only one of my friends doesn't get it, and if he makes fun of me, I make fun of him for reasearching everything there is to know about Harry Potter. I mean I like Harry Potter, but I love rollercoasters. So he loves Harry Potter, and likes coasters.
Louise Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 My family actually started my theme park interest as a kid, my parents and particularly my brother used to take me to Alton Towers, and the Florida parks when we were over there, and we're all pretty much adrenaline junkies in one way or another. Well, we used to be, my dad thinks he's too old for all that kinda stuff now, and unfortunately my mum has a back injury which means she really can't ride coasters these days, too risky. Having said that though, they find it very odd that I would want to travel to visit parks. My friends are the same way, which is one of the reasons why I haven't visited many of the further afield British parks. They're all for dropping by a park or two while on holiday if we're near them, but won't travel with that specific purpose. Ted's golf analogy is great, especially since my dad is a serious golfer, and has travelled for his hobby, I'll be sure to use that one in the future.
