Gerstlauer1 Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) Hey mates! In this thread you can follow the progress of my take on making a recreation of Hankatten at BonBonLand, Denmark. It's a Gerstlauer Spinner. Here's the specs of the coaster: Length: 397 m Height: 16 m Speed: 55 km/h Duration: 1:00 G-Force: 3.3 Here's some pics of both the real coaster and my progress in No Limits Coaster: Here's the real coaster. The layout is finished. The color sheme is not complete yet. Here's the big helix. Edited June 24, 2011 by mcjaco
mightbeawannabe Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Two things- 1-I don't know how experienced you are with NL, but don't use any prefabs whatsoever on a Gerstlauer, Maurer, Intamin, etc. They don't look very good. I'd also recommend starting by supporting the highest parts of the ride first (crest, drop, mouse section), and do those very last. 2-I see you're using rather long segments, and that can lead to kinks and chinks. What you can do is split up those segments into more manageable pieces (maybe 10 m or less) by clicking a segment and pressing 'Y'. It can really help. Another thing I recommend, is running the vertical radius comb through it using CK, and adjust segments accordingly to remove pumps (they would be the spikes in the comb, but when it jumps from above to below it's not a pump *normally*). I would also add the flat section before the drop, as yours is missing that straight segment- Do the dimensions and stats match yours? The footprint, height, speed, length, etc. Not really much to tell from those pictures... -my 2 cents

I'm not the best NL builder so i appreciate getting some tips. I will work on the supports! What is CK? Yes the height and speed does match, the length almost does.
mightbeawannabe Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 (edited) Construction Kit. Found here. DL & Install. To run the comb, Load track-go to View-Combs-Vertical Radius. It clearly shows pumps for any track built by any method. You must exit and modify that part of the track in the editor and load it again to see if it helped or not. Eventually, you can get close to pumpless. Edited June 24, 2011 by A.J.
