First Visit to Carowinds

I am planning on visiting Carowinds for the first time this summer. We plan on going on a weekday so hopefully crowds won't be too bad. What are crowds generally like here? Also, is there any order we should do rides in? And is there anywhere in the Charlotte area to pick up discount tickets like coupons, Coke cans, etc.? If not no biggie, just wondered if we could save a little money. Any info on this park and obtaining discount tickets would be greatly appreciated.

Think about going on July 23rd for Coaster Stock. ERT in the morning and at night - lunch and dinner. It was kind of crowded last year - but with all of the ERT before and after - we had a blast. It is a weekend, but definitely worth it if you can go.
