mlkrgr Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 New to these forums and it was such a spectacular day with predictions of some thunderstorms and rain that I had to post a TR about it. We only got a small sprinkling of rain, which was a bit refreshing rather than a pain. Left the camera at home since I didn't want to be held hostile paying SF's locker fees. Generally, the lines were short to nonexistent and longest wait was 30 minutes at the Mind Eraser because they only had one employee checking all the restraints at it and Gotham City Gauntlet was at 25 minutes for one of my rides, while Bizarro's as well as Thunderbolt line was at 20 minutes for one of my rides. Otherwise, lines were short to nonexistent for much of the day. Did all of this in one day: Bizarro: 12x (yep, count em; 12x!) Batman Coaster: 1x (would have been 2x if it did not break down) Mind Eraser: 1x Cyclone: 1x (this would have been 2 x if it did not break down too) Thunderbolt: 1x Shipwreck Falls: 2x Splash Water Falls: 2x Swiss Family Tobaggan by Pandemonium: 2x Pandemonium: 3x Gautham City Gauntlet: 2x Kontiki: 1x Houdini: 1x Catapult: 1x Tomahawk: 1x Twister: 1x Scream: 2x Carousel: 2x Wow! I definitely got my money's worth. Bizarro had lines within the loading station to maybe 10-20 people outside of it for all my other rides. The waterpark was not operating as per the schedule. Though, I probably wouldn't have opted for it anyway since it was a comfortable temperature for much of the day and the water rides were enough to cool me down. This was my first time on Bizarro since it switched over from Superman. It was running smoothly and they really are making a much better effort in getting the trains out of the station full and in a timely manner than I have remembered and even when compared to other coasters at the park, which is a bit amazing since Bizzarro had less of a wait than Batman or Mind Eraser. I thankfully am just under the maximum height for the Gautham City Gauntlet. They had to measure me before riding and the maximum height stick for it was brushing my hair. I felt bad that a father with two little kids couldn't ride since he was too tall and then one of the kids was just under the minimum height. So they have very restrictive height restrictions since minimum is 46" and max is 75". It had very sudden 180" turns in which you can feel the forces. Pandemonium was running well and it was spinning like crazy on one of my rides and then it was barely spinning at all on another while the 3rd time had a moderate amount of spinning. It seemed toward the end of the day, much of the park was shut down due to low volume but they at least kept it open until the scheduled closing time, which is 9 pm. Mind Eraser and Batman was definitely not running the last few hours. The carousel is definitely showing its age and one of the horses I got on was wobbly. When I went to get a smoothie at Coldstone, the register actually froze as I used my Discover card to get a 5% discount. Don't know why and what happened for sure but I waited until the cashier said I was all set; but it was surely a good feeling I got a discount for a couple of girls behind me since the register was not working.
Moose Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 ^It sounds like you had a really great day. I'm very envious, I usually end up with miserably crowded days .
