DJeXeL Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 So I've lived in California for some 20 years and have been to every park/zoo in the state with the exception of the SD Zoo & Safari Park and Legoland (Doing that in a couple weeks). Didn't feel like taking my DSLR and all of the lenses that go with it so you'll have to deal with the average quality of my Canon SD630 "point and shoot." Sorry in advance as this report is image heavy. This park is well worth the $40 admission in my opinion. Beautifully landscaped! Safari Carousel This thing is odd looking..... So many choices........ This clearly must be the entrance.... Time for the safari!! Safari lasts about 25-30 minutes. I would highly advise taking the tour once in the morning and again in late afternoon as the animals are A LOT more active in the late afternoon. Each safari guide puts their own spin on the tour so that's another reason to do it more than once. The guides are VERY informative and add jokes in here and there to keep the passengers from getting bored. Only waited about 20 minutes for the Safari Tram. While in line I talked to a family that visited the park last summer and said they waited over an hour for the tram so with that being said, I considered myself lucky. Riding in style! Reminds me of a Palm Springs Golf Resort I LOVE Cheetahs Digital zooms always look so lovely....... For $90/person you can take the Caravan Safari which gets you up close and personal with some of the animals and you can even feed a Giraffe. Definitely worth the $$ in my opinion if you have little ones. Didn't do this but a lot of people saw the value in it as it had a line to experience it. $70/person The animal keepers were having a tough time trying to get this little guy to eat... Gorillas Monitor Baby Cheetah that was born in Nov. [/img] African Serval. Yes, it's in the cat family. Golden Eagle named Tanka Gorgeous Bird. Golden eagles have been clocked at 200mph in a hunting dive! Solar oven that's capable of reaching temperatures of 400 degrees F Thanks for enduring this report.
