robbalvey Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Hey guys, So with our insane season about to start up here in just three weeks (Bash events, TPR Tours, crazy shit, etc, etc...) I'm about ready to hand over the TPR Game Exchange over to you guys to manage and promote. I kind of see this as being a challenge to make a success, so don't think that I'm disappearing or anything, as I'll always totally be around to help put things in motion. But I really do need a dedicated team of people to keep reminding the games forum members to upload to the exchange, guide them through to use it, and promote it on almost a daily basis. Matt - you should have access to the front page editor, if you don't let me know. I'd like you guys to get into a routine of posting tracks on the front page to promote the exchange. Like a "best of the week" or "check out this track/park", etc. Remember, you guys can make up the criteria. If people see if on the front page, they'll click on it. It's the BEST way to promote anything on TPR. Also, Matt has access to the main TPR ASSistants forum to be able to tell the Facebook and Twitter guys to promote something. But really, the main focus for everyone should just be to keep reminding people about the exchange. Like if you see someone upload their track to the forum instead of the exchange, grab the track, upload it to the exchange, and edit their post to delete the track from the forum and put a link to their track in the exchange. It's going to be the only way we can break the habit of uploading to the forum and uploading to the exchange instead. As far as ideas for contests or other promotions - my take on it is just like what I tell the other admins - if you have an idea, run with it! It's easier to ask for my forgiveness than it is my permission! Having said that though, I just do ask that any idea that gets put in motion should be discussed amongst you guys first, but you don't need my final stamp of approval. If it turns out that something you guys do isn't up to my liking, don't take offense to it, and I'm not going to get "mad" at anyone. And remember that not all ideas will be well received. Don't let that discourage you and keep trying different things! Not all of Steven Spielberg's movies were hits. For every "Jaws" there is a bunch of "Batteries Not Included" and "A.I's". Also, keep in mind that Mon, Tues, Wed are some of the highest traffic days on TPR. So if you want the best response to something, post on those days, and mornings are always better. Anyway, I think that's all I have to say now. Keep the Game Exchange moving forward! --Robb
