  1. 1. Which coaster type should I use?

    • Giga coaster (ex: Millennium Force at Cedar Point or Ride of Steel at Darien Lake)
      1
    • Mega coaster (ex: Goliath at SF Magic Mountain or Titan at SF Over Texas)
      4
    • Mega coaster (ex: Nitro at SF Great Adventure or Behemoth at Canada's Wonderland)

For my park, Fox Studios World, I chose Die Hard as the basis for my largest coaster I am going to build. The station for the coaster will be in a skyscraper type of building (as that was the location of the movie) and the queue will either be running down and through the underground parking entrance, or through a separate parking garage (the underground way would be more accurate to the movie).

The problem is deciding which type of coaster to use. When I made my Goliath ride for my first park, it became a sought after ride and I ended up having to extend the queue length to accommodate 400 people. I used a giga coaster for that.

Alternatively, I can use a mega coaster, like Nitro or Behemoth (minus the V seats). Or I can use the same coaster type as Goliath at Magic Mountain.

Basically this coaster will be the centerpiece for the park, so I want to get it right. Right now I'm thinking giga coaster but I think it's more because I am more experienced in using that type then the others when it comes to a top 10 sized coaster.

What are your thoughts?

With a Die Hard Skyscraper Theme? Hmmm...I'd have to go with a 200ft plus Vertical Drop Coaster...that sounds like a win to me. The first part could be drops and the second part twisting through the city. The Lift could go through a skyscraper too!

Hmmm...I'd make it a Mobius Dueling Coaster too. (Means one contiuous coaster with two stations i.e. Racer at Kennywood)

You know, I like that Idea, too. Incorporating a vertical lift inside a building would be pretty intresting to see, too!

With Die Hard, I feel like a chase thourgh a city can be a fun ride as well. Even like a twister ride could be fun, I think.

That's more or less what I'll be doing with my Speed ride.
