SMYRNA, Ga. -- Marietta fire crews are at Six Flags White Water after a report of a fire at the water park Sunday afternoon.

 

Witness told 11Alive News crews on-scene the fire started in a concession stand near the wave pool. It then quickly spread to the trees above.

 

The park was evacuated due to what rescue crews on the scene are calling concerns over a chemical fire.

 

The Georgia Department of Transportation sent out an advisory stating Northbound Cobb Parkway is completely closed due to the evacuation.

 

Crews are gathering more information and will have a have report on 11Alive News at 6 p.m. as well at here at 11Alive.com.

"Fire at a water park" just strikes me as so incredibly ironic. In all seriosuness, I hope everyone is safe and sound.
