bigbill245 Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Hey TPR just checking in to post up a video for all yall to watch. Since this is my first TPR trip report? it will be kind of boring.... I guess. In fact the first 4 and a half minutes of the video is just me driving talking to my self. I was bored. After the four minute mark I get into the new lesser attractions at Moreys to reviewing some rides on mariners landing. Last is the event for the new ghost ship. For the new ghost ship it was very nicely themed. It had a lot of dark and scary going on for it, but for the more experienced riders it was not as scary as some would hope for. For me there would be olny two things that i thought held it back from being really scary. First off is the actors were all caged, i know that they needed to be caged since the pier has had a history of employees being struck by the people attending the ride. The other thing that i was not impressed by was the dead space throughout the attraction. For example they would have a very well done up room that was themed incredibly. but after that room you would walk down a slightly dim hallway that would have visible drop boxes. There was nothing in the hallways that would give a sense of fear. Other then those two things i feel like this attraction was a wonderful experience and a perfect fit for Morey's piers. It was great to see a new attraction that seemed that there was more planning for it then just slapping in another carnival ride onto the pier. This attraction was a must see when you go to visit Morey's, but i suggest going there at night since there are some open air areas. Other then that here is a wonderful video that i have made for this wonderful wall post since all my photos came out like garbage Hope you enjoy Love ~Bill [coastertube]http://www.themeparkreview.com/coastertube/play.php?vid=Produce_d5co[/coastertube] (hope it works)
larrygator Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Bill - regarding the dead spaces, I was wondering if there would be more scare actors during normal operating hours, especially which all the drop windows that were not being utilized on Friday Night. Also, you mentioned that all the actors were caged. I recall at least 3 occasions where the actors were not caged. Maybe they took more liberties with certain groups during the preview event. There was a guy with a fire axe chasing people in the area with the cyclone fencing. In the kitchen, the guy in there actually opened up the door and ran after someone who laughed at him being locked in the room. And I recall a third incident where a female scare actor snuck out from behind a corner.
