kidcoaster 2 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 (edited) Two girls injured when ride fails at Geauga County Maple Festival in ChardonBy Michael Sangiacomo, The Plain Dealer April 24, 2010, 7:34AM CHARDON, Ohio -- Two young girls were injured Friday night while on a ride at the Geauga County Maple Festival. City officials said the children were in a cage on the Skydiver ride around 9 p.m. when the door opened while the car was suspended upside down. The ride is similar to a ferris wheel with enclosed cages. Festival President J.R. Blanchard said the girls did not fall out of the cage, but were somehow injured being bounced around inside. "We don't know the cause of the malfunction," he said this morning. "One of the girls hurt her ankle and both got bumped around. They were not seriously injured." Blanchard contacted The Ohio Ride Inspector under the Ohio Department of Agriculture to request an inspector come to the fair today and examine the ride. The ride was shut down but the fair will remain open today and Sunday. blog.cleveland.com/metro/2010/04/two_girls_injured_when_ride_fa.html From what I gathered I am fairly sure this is the Sky Diver that the incident occurred on.
