Acquatica, the newly opened section of Manila Ocean Park, features an open-air musical show with a live cast and multimedia effects of pyrotechnics, synchronized water jets, flame bursts and special computer imaging. Called "Maiden of the Sea," Acquatica's main attraction not only provides entertainment, but also gives lessons on taking care of nature. The show is often compared to the world-famous "Songs of the Sea" at Singapore's Sentosa island resort. Water show. A scene from "Maiden of the Sea," a musical show featured on Acquatica. Don't expect to get wet during the show, though -- "Maiden of the Sea" is all about stunning effects and artful theatrics. But if you really have to get that splash of water, try going to Acquatica during daytime -- the place takes the form of a water theme park that caters specifically for kids. "Maiden of the Sea" runs 3 to 4 times a night, depending on the weather, with tickets priced at P300 each. Customers can avail of Manila Ocean Park's "Moonlight Adventure" promo -- which includes passes to "Maiden of the Sea" and the Oceanarium -- for P500 each. If bought separately, tickets to the 2 attractions cost P700 per person.
