Vffreak07 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 (edited) Brain Surge opened yesterday during my flight back from Florida so to my utter dismay I wasn't able to be there on Opening Day, but a bunch of members of Valleyfairzone & I met up to ride it so goo-bah to you Opening Day riders. We got there around an hour before the ride opened, got unlimited ride wristbands for a relatively cheap price of $24.99 and then headed over to BS for an hour of waiting. They started testing at about 10 (when the park opened) and right off the bat they started having some mechanical issues with it post testing. We waited it out regardless and as the GP all started to leave the line because of the delay, they opened it up. The cars are actually fairly comfortable. Not millennium flier comfy, but still rideable. You connect your seatbelt to your OTSR and then a ride operator comes around and lifts up the leg rest. There's a lever between the seats that's fairly easy to operate for either rider. Once the ride starts you start spinning right away, lever pending. The ride picks up speed VERY quickly, combine that with the rotations of your car controlled by the lever, Brain Surge can actually be fairly intense! After 2 rides, another VFZ member met up with us and we went to ride it one last time before going to explore the rest of the park. We got in line, waited a cycle & then it broke down. Waited about 10-15 minutes & then it was back up. Once we got on the ride & it started we went backwards to hold ourselves upsidedown. Bad decision. The ride slowed down right away and we were stuck upsidedown for about 5 minutes. Once a mechanic came by & put us right-side-up we went around the entire track slowly once, then went backwards for about a quarter of the track, and then the ride started again. Mid-ride they did an E-Stop, but that didn't take very long to figure out. Post E-Stop we got a FANTASTIC ride. Very quick, disorienting, and fun! After BS, we headed to Splat-O-Sphere, Avatar, FOC, POS, and some other rides with unfortunate acronyms. Went on the Log Chute & got completely SOAKED, went on the TreeTop Colliders, took a spin on the Ferris Wheel, and then I went to Valleyfair to snag some offseason pics of flooding & the Bumper Boat removal and whatnot. Overall, I'd definitely recommend Brain Surge to everyone! It's as family friendly as you want it to be & I personally think it's like a Zipper on roids. Give it a spin! 4/5 surges. Here's a video one of our Forum members took: Now here is my attempt at sarcasm, comedy, and informative captions to go along with a variety of photos. Woah cool, it's that new ride. Sit here. Ride will start. Gotta love the signage! (I rotated this pic) 90 DEGREES! Here's where you wait. The wait highly depends on how many times it breaks down. And this is your brain on drugs. Call me Brain Surge's Lever, I can make your seat rock. The ride is surrounded by glass, but seeing as the world will end in approximately 1005 days. Remove loose articles from your pockets before the ride, or just like walking through downtown Minneapolis, they'll disappear! More liberal propaganda. I'm on a bench. The color scheme is quite colorful. Shiny ayy? Kind of looks like those aquaglobe thingys that they sell on TV. Here's the Jon & Kate car. The Unicoaster runs on a track. So Jeff Johnson, what's your verdict? This ride is fun. Now go ride it. Insert feet here. Spongebob Brown Pants. HA! That's punny. This park has flowers. It is indoors. FOC closeup. Raise your hand if you're for illegal immigration! In case you all were wondering, there are multiple targets that you shoot at during this ride, that's why the middle is sort of shaped like a target. 90 Degrees! Pow. You will pay. TO THE CHOPPER! Brain Surging in progress. This park has a very big ball. NU actually has a LOT of unique rides. You can see the BS from up on the Ferris Wheel! That's a lot of BS. POS - What an unfortunate yet fitting acronym. Onto Valleyfair - The 2nd portion of the parking lot is flooded. That's what we call, bad. Some work is being done around the main entrance. New signage, surfacing, etc. You probably can't see it that well, but Excalibur is a tad bit flooded. Water coaster. There's something to advertise for the 2010 season! These Bumper Boats are going to Michigan's Adventure. Apparently, they will conclude the capital expansion for the next 3 years. Yep. No caption. Sorry folks. That just about wraps it up! Thanks for taking a look! Now go ride BS, POS, FOC, etc. ADMIN EDIT: I went ahead and embedded the youtube video. Feel free to use our youtube feature in the future. Thanks for sharing this with us!
