Theme Park Builder 3D

Recommended Posts

I remember someone on this forum mentioning TPB3D, and it seemed like an awesome program. Their forums are still up, but I can't tell if there has been any progress or if it has stopped completely.

So what's up? have they released it and I can't find it? Is it dead in the water? Am I totally missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Megamatt a fellow tpb3d'er is correct. There are actually two TPB3D products in development. The first is a precision CAD amusement park building program that will let you build the park with extreme precision and be fully net aware. It is more for modeling parks than playing them.

The bigger application will be TPB3D-TG or "The Game" as we all know it. This will let you build, manage and ride in your park eventually across the net. Much coding is in place and also if you count current production flat rides and OTR's "Other Track Rides" and Coasters we have over 150 rides. That is doubled over what TORCG3 aka RCT3 had with its two officially released expansion packs. We are looking at a possible mid April release flatscape, nothing to fancy at first with a number of flat rides, coasters and some OTR's such as Dark Ride track and Coasters. Some trees and Fauna, possibly paths with the new Path Manager and alignment in 1 degree increments of every object along a circle.

Water such as lakes, rivers and water ride will not be available in the initial release. Nor will buildings as the new Building Generator is in the planning stages so instant themed stretch buildings you can build a park in minutes with is not yet here nor will be the peeps. A.I. is in the early coding stages.

TPB3D has over 50 themes and subtheme packs planned with 8 theme packs planned for the initial main ( not alpha or beta ) releases.

The original first release themes include the following as planned.

Asian (includes India)

Horror

Midway (this is our official generic theme)

Safari ( African, Australian)

Santa's Village

Sci-Fi also includes subthemes (Ancient Sci-Fi, Martian, Retro Sci-Fi and Space)

Water Park includes subthemes (Aquatic Sea Park, Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Beach Resort)

When we get rolling by later this year we should have many more features added to the game and cad versions as each app will be also very different. The most important thing is this is FREE and does not require you to sign non-disclosure agreements even when trying the beta's out. This belongs to you and the global community and the more knowledge you bring to it of rides and parks the more everyone will benefit. We are mainly covering rides from about 1890 and up. Here are a few examples of finished rides we already have waiting for the game.

Ever hear of the very rare Chance Tumbler? We got it nailed for the game.

Forget RCT3's SDC Polyp we got the Monster instead and yes the tubs do spin.

Intamin (dual ride) Sky Cabin and Sky Jump Parachute ride is nailed and waiting for the park.

We can rocket you to space with our Astrojets, nailed and waiting to launch when the park arrives. Your park that is.

Don't like flat rides, how about a cruise on the Samuel Clemens. The guy the real name was of that you might know as Mark Twain. Ready to sale once we get lakes, this model is finished and waiting.

Rare rides, we got you covered. 1940 Shepard Roll-O-Liner. For your retro park.

As you can see, we never game up, nothing died, and we kept at it. Now if you code in c++ or model in 3D or can use a graphics program like photoshop or very important, get us real on and off ride sounds from rides without passengers screaming, we can make this go faster, bigger and better and best of all, it is free for the globe to use, build and enjoy.

More of the rides, you can see them here at our wiki.

As far as modeling, it looks like some of the rides were made on Sketch-Up. If so, then I might be interested in helping you guys out. I took a look through the list of rides already created and it seems like this project has a lot of potiential.

BARNSTORMER!!! For TPB3D.

Lead coder AlabamaCajun previews a first flatride made in the FRCS and working in TPB3D. The FRCS is the original brainchild concept of founder DoctorJ and allows a user to compile a bunch of parts setup options and animation then compile it into a flatride for tpb3d. Once a ride is a compiled file, it can be shared with other park builders.

Currently over 2.6 million possible combinations of rides could be made in the final FRCS, but that number grows as more ride parts groups come online.

Other major coding news, Physics applied in game. Other items added to the new game coding include, paths, booths, AI - Agents, Game Manager, Transport, Lighting, Textures, Tracked rides, both coasters and OTR's "Other Tracked Rides."

14,000 lines of code 21,000 lines of source including comments and copyright data.

220 Files in 17 Folders for source.

80+ files for data including textures, sample scenery and other artwork.

Master Ride Modeler GermanTaco readies The Sartori Techno Jump ride for the repository and the game. Quality on this ride is extremely high.

Vodhin's recreation to exacting detail on the Coney Island version of the original Giant Wonder Wheel ride coming about in great fashion.

Other work continues on sound, graphic arts and Coaster development as the TRCS "Tracked Ride Construction Set" now adds Wooden Roller Coasters to existing Steel Coasters.

----------

New discussion forum to debate Park and Ride piping.

----------

Building Generator forum becoming active on the discussions and implementation of instant stretched, assignable, themed structures for the game. Park building never was this easy.
