Zenechai Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I know it's WAAAY ahead of schedule, but I have NO IDEA what to expect when my parents and I go to Valencia to kick off 2010 at Six Flags. They bought season passes when they took my sister, brother-in-law, and niece to a Six Flags park in the Midwest (not sure which), so I'm guessing they have a LOT to offer. I've heard APs are very cheap for SFMM (around $70), and Calicoasters recommended doing the upgraded pass for $125. Any more input regarding that? Like what's included? I know about the coupon book, but not sure if paying double for an AP would be worth it. Just so you are aware, my parents and I ALL do coasters, though my mom will probably sit out on most (she prefers to be in a train and does NOT do loops....with the exception of Rockin' Roller Coaster and Screamin'), so I'm looking for some rides we can all do as a family and some that I can just do with my favorite coaster buddy (Daddy). Well, TPR? Whaddaya got? ~Zen

(Zenechai) Allow me to answer this: With the regular season pass, you get: A coupon booklet with about $300 worth of coupons. Free admission each visit (save $54 each time). With the Xtreme Play Pass, you get: A coupon booklet with about $300 worth of coupons. Free admission each visit (save $54 each time). Free parking each visit (save $15 each time). 25% off of food and select merchandise (not including food from vendor carts). I get the Xtreme Pass every year, but you decide what's best for you depending on how many times you visit. Eric

I live in HB, so I don't get to go to Valencia that often, but then again, I have never been to SF, so I never had a REASON to go. If I like it, I will probably do the XP. Thanks again, Eric! ~Zen
shepp Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Since parking is $15 bucks each time, I'd advise that whoever's most likely to drive get an Xtreme, the rest of you standards. Two more visits to SF parks and the Xtreme starts paying for itself. (Assuming no one in your family already has a parking pass to another SF park for the season - it'll work at all the parks.) SFMM has become a great park, but it comes up kinda short in the "family coaster" category. Still, two of its best - T:S and Goliath - are non-loopers, so Mom might want to consider them (though Goliath's helix is a killer). I'm guessing that New Year's Day might be really crowded, and even on empty days it takes a while to ride everything the park has to offer. But it sounds like price is a consideration, so you might not want to opt for Flash Passes. So I'd advise doing what everyone always advises - get there an hour early, when the park opens sprint to X2 (it's a bit tricky to find, so figure out your path beforehand), then hit maybe T:S. But after that, be prepared to wait. And wait. Have fun!

And thanks for the suggestions on coasters for Mommy, she'll be grateful to know that I at least TRIED to plan out our day in advance!! Mommy and Daddy already have (I think) Standard SPs, so I'd probably go for the X pass....as for the Flash Pass....if it's going to be as crowded as everyone says, should I opt to pay just this once for a 3-person pass? I mean, we can always come back in the off-season, since we'll all have season passes, but I want my first visit to be really special. Has anyone here gotten the Flash Passes before? Have you found that they're worth the investment? ~Zen

If the park is in fact busy, absolultely! --Robb Do you recommend going with the Gold Pass? I couldn't get to see what my discount would be if I bought a 3-person pass, since 2009 isn't over yet. They're not showing dates past 12/31/2009. The regular Pass (from the screen I can see) is $92.99 for 3 people. The Gold Pass is listed at $160.99 for 3 people. Again, I don't know if this IS or WITHOUT my potential Xtreme Pass discount.....any help here? ~Zen
