MG Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Hey Robb, You may already have this system implemented so I apologise if that is the case. My suggestion is would it be an idea to designate a member of Theme Park Review to be the representative for Theme Park Review at their local park. This would mean parks could contact local communities more easily and parks could also receive feedback more easily. It would also give parks an identity to attach to Theme Park Review and could ease organisation of trips etc. It could also enable Theme Park Review to expand just from the Global level down to a Regional and Local level as well. The main idea would just be rasing awareness with parks.
Mr. Starr Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 If TPR were to have park representatives, wouldn't we just be turning into another ACE? I personally like the way TPR is now, and how for almost every theme park in the world, there is a TPR member standing by to keep us updated.
MG Posted May 25, 2009 Author Posted May 25, 2009 ^Oh, I wasn't aware ACE already had that system. As for your second point, that is exactly the type of person the parks could be in better contact with. It would all be about communication.
robbalvey Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 Elissa and I are the key points of contact for all the parks we work with. I don't feel that having any kind of "regional rep" for TPR is a good idea because I've seen other organizations do this and IMO it just doesn't work well. Many parks do read TPR and take our feedback into consideration, you just don't see a lot of parks post to the site. In fact, I would say that just about every "major" park all over the world (and a lot of minor ones too) read TPR on a very regular basis. TPR already travels around the world every year and we put on events and tours globally. I would say that on an annual basis TPR visits over 100 parks per year as a group. If you want to know more about what tours and events we are putting on, check our events page: http://www.themeparkreview.com/events/events.htm If you have any questions about a visit we are having to a park near you, either post about it or email me! I'm going to close this thread for now because I feel it might just turn into a thread of people telling us how we should be doing our events and tours and at the moment, when we are less than two weeks away from starting our VERY busy tour season, it's just not the time for a thread like this. Perhaps at the end of the season when we are planning NEXT YEAR's trips is a better time. Thanks for your understanding. --Robb
