SCarowinds’ Halloween Haunt Returns with More Mazes, Monsters, and Mayhem!

 

Guests will leave SCarowinds screaming over the new show, mazes, and scare zones!

 

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 22, 2008)-- It's that time of year again when the leaves turn, the weather chills, and the darkness falls more quickly than ever. If you have ever experienced the ghastly terror of a night at SCarowinds, be warned, with NEW sinister mazes, eerie scare zones, a disturbing show, and double the monsters, you are in for a rude awakening! Fourteen nights of fright await guests during SCarowinds’ ninth frightening season at Carowinds. SCarowinds’ Halloween Haunt is set to terrify guests on select nights this fall from 7 p.m. till midnight: Sept. 26-27, Oct. 3-4, 10-11, 17-19, 24-26 and 30-31.

 

SCarowinds features eight horrific haunted mazes and three scare zones, hundreds of creepy monsters lurking around every corner, and as always, SCarowinds presents a sizeable collection of rides with a twist, daring you to climb aboard in total darkness! The entire park atmosphere will be transformed with an eerie glow as SCarowinds comes to life causing guests to frequently look over their shoulder for fear that they are forever being watched!

 

Your nightmares will come to life as three new mazes debut this fall  Last Laff, Cornstalkers and The Asylum! Find yourself caught in the unimaginable evils waiting around every twist and turn of the SCarowinds’ Halloween Haunt scare zones  Feeding Frenzy, The Cemetery, or The Harvest! Populated by the most grotesque creatures ever seen, these areas of the park should be traversed only by the most daring souls. The new “Dead Awakening” live show will send guests into a bloodcurdling terror as they view the horrors of a young girl come to life!

Last Laff

The circus has come to town and everyone is going on opening night. The crowds are huge as everyone enters the big top. While you wait in line, you notice something creepy about the clowns. Enter the show at your own risk, but remember… The clowns will always have “The Last Laff.”

 

Cornstalkers

Forget what you already know about Scarecrows. These supposed inanimate objects come to life in the midst of the night and are possessed by spirits of a dark and evil realm. Amongst the hay and rows of corn, they are still by day, but come night fall, who knows what will become their prey.

 

The Asylum

In 1934 the premier center for the insane opened its doors. Starkweather Center for the Insane was a model of modern treatment, led by Dr. Alexander Starkweather. The intense use of electroshock therapy led to the death of thousands of the center’s patients and more than 2/3 of the patients treated by Starkweather never walked out of the doors. Spirits have been seen in dozens of the rooms and tortured screams can be heard in the hallways aver since the doors at Starkweather were chained shut. Rumors about the patients, staff and the chilling fact that they will never, ever leave The Asylum remain today.

 

Slaughter House

The butchers at the Shady Lake Pork Processing Facility have become a little bored with their day job. Their sanity hanging by a thread, they’ve turned their attention to human prey – slaughtering anyone who dares to come near. How will you meet your end at the Slaughter House?

 

Alien Annihilation

Buried deep in the woods lays the ruins of a civilization older than any known human existence. Now, among the ruins, a discovery has been made, detailing a return. Dead Inn

The owner of this cozy little inn in the country has an obsession. It’s an obsession that cost him his family, led him to massacre 18 innocent guests and ultimately made him take his own life. Shut down after the tragedy, the boarded-up inn is coming to life again, room by room. Those who dare to enter may never be heard from again!

 

Dream Factory

After more than 80 years of turning out hit horror films, the real story of this movie studio has been uncovered - inhumane experiments, torture and reanimation of corpses are only some of the terrors inside. Mad scientists and their creations wander these halls, hungry for new victims. Welcome to a place where reality ceases and nightmares begin.

 

Final Summons

Deep in the Louisiana Bayou stands an old manor, inhabited by a known witch and practitioner of Voodoo. When a mysterious plague hits, the townspeople turn on the old lady and send her to an untimely death. Now, on the 25th anniversary, the house has sprung to life, and someone wants revenge!
