ms13
Where did I get the inspiration to try three parks in one day?...ebay of course! Actually, Chris, from the Behemoth trip, was coming through the area to get to Astroland's last open day, and I figured I join him for a few of the local parks. So we went to Lakemont, Sauce Land, and an unexpected trip to Knoebels! Notes: -Holy crap the back of Skyliner at Lakemont with an empty train is an airtime machine! -Skydiver=Pain=Fun! -Leap the Dips is just crazy in the back! -Yeah...not much to do at lakemont... -...Sauce... -For some reason, I ate a sauce less sandwich, boy am I strange... -Who doesn't know what tainted love is? -Who keeps a gas station open, but without gas? -Pheonix still best wooden coaster I've ridden! -Rain will make any coaster crazier! -Why is this reading like a twitter update?... -Twister is mainly just good in the pitch black... -Why am I wasting time with words? By Kozmo, even though you're saying welcome. What a great day, and it sucks I couldn't make it up to Astroland, but work called, and somebody has to flip those burgers! Can I use this space to say how amazing the waffle ice cream sandwich was...no, while this my TR, so i'll say what I want I tried, I swear, but Knoebels is no fun, as their shooting range does not react to a camera flash...party poopers... Fling turns looks quite sexy wet...this can be said for several things in life! The most unsanitary thing in the park...well, other than the lake, restrooms, wood shavings..well, it's in the top 7. Continuing our trend of pizza, here's some pizza...what you wanted a better caption...sorry, that's all you're getting...picky people... Look at those chickens, wearing ponchos...no real coaster enthusiasts uses a poncho...well, maybe a few... This was my view driving into Knoebels, and I'm happy that it was... Mmmm...pizza with sauce...well, most pizza has sauce, but this is special sauce! Yes....we found the source of all awesomeness in the world! I may had just gotten a POV of this... maybe... : ) So yeah, I asked the ride operators if they could play tainted love, but both of them responded with "what is that." The nerves of them! Can you guess who is terrified on this ride...no really, can you? I cant! Oh where, oh where have my ponies gone? Well, okay, I did get into the park... This is the furthest I could get into the park, so the rest of the pictures will be taken from afar. ...water slides! At Delgrosso's, you have a great view of the mountains, but we're not here for the mountains...we're here for the....... A band with an audience of two, how poetic. With great fun comes great sacrifice.... This thing was one unique ride...I wish I knew what happened, but my mind had been twisted. Can somebody tell me why things are coming out of nowhere??? HOLY CRAP...Leap the Dips is on fire! Um...where did these guys come from? Only slightly different view from cedar point...only slightly.. Here we are, and it looks like they fixed the sign since we were last here...
coasterdude5
Very hilarious trip report! Did you by chance see if the Revolution track at Delgrosso's is still on the ground?
printersdevil78
So yeah, I asked the ride operators if they could play tainted love, but both of them responded with "what is that." The nerves of them! Correct response: "My good ride op, tainted love is when sometimes I've got to (pause two beats) get away, I've got to (pause two beats) get away from the pain that you drive into the heart of me." They would have known EXACTLY what you were talking about then.
Wood Dragon 1988
Good pics of a good trip. You know, I think we planned this thing like two days before we actually went. Then, after a half-hour of Lakemont, someone mentioned that Knoebels may be close. It ended up being 2 hours from DelGrosso's I think, but WELL worth it! Our first ride there was Phoenix, with a full train, in the rain, from the third seat. Need I say more about how great that ride was?! The trip brought some great memories from the Behemoth trip, and fortunitely I was able to buy a jar of the world-class sauce this time
ms13
Very hilarious trip report! Did you by chance see if the Revolution track at Delgrosso's is still on the ground? Been looking for a while, but still haven't been able to see it...sorry Correct response: "My good ride op, tainted love is when sometimes I've got to (pause two beats) get away, I've got to (pause two beats) get away from the pain that you drive into the heart of me." Wood Dragon 1988
You know, I think I've ridden Phoenix about 13 times in my life, and I don't think I've had my hands down for the whole ride once. The GP confuse me sometimes.
