Mechanic Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I'll preface this by telling you that I am by no means any great gaming enthusiast, so if my question seems dumb, please forgive me. Thanks in advance. On to the reason for my post.. I bought no limits when it was version 1.55. I recently (today) checked into updating it, and found there is a version 1.71, but it requires version 1.6 to be installed before it can be updated to 1.71. My question is: Was the upgrade from 1.55 to 1.6 free, or something you had to pay for? I never looked into updating it before and never received any news of the 1.6 version. I can't find the update to from 1.55 to 1.6 on the no limits site, so I'm left a bit confused about what to do. Any help would be appreciated. P.S. I did try searching first, but I didn't find the information I was looking for. Judging by my results, I'm not much of a search function enthusiast either, but it's not for lack of trying.
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 If you bought No Limits within 6 months of the release of 1.6, it was free, if it was more than 6 months before the release of 1.6, it costs $15. The update to 1.71 is free to all 1.6 users. Personally, I would recommend spending the $15. It is well worth it for 1.6 alone. Even better since 1.71 is free. I'm not sure how you would go about buying 1.6 now, since I did it very soon after it came out, so I'll let someone else answer that... EDIT: And also, there is an official NL question thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29233 it would be better if you asked your questions there, and a look-see through the thread couldn't hurt. EDIT #2: Yay! 1800 posts!
Mechanic Posted July 25, 2008 Author Posted July 25, 2008 Thank you for the quick response. That does clear things up for me. I bought my version 1.55 in March of 2005. According to the NEWS section of the no limits site, 1.6 was released in September of 2006, so it was well over 6 months after my initial purchase. I'll contact them directly and see if it's still possible to upgrade for a discount from the full price. Thanks again.
Xpress Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 I got Nl 1.55 about 2 weeks before NL 1.6 was released, so I asked for a copy for the update. I got it for free. Also, be sure to back up your purchase e-mail, so that you can show them incase you lose your copy of NL.
