AndyH Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Hi all, Looking for some advice and suggestions. Girlfriend and I are going to Holland in June and are looking to probably do 3 parks in 5 days (travel from Amsterdam and back), Parks we are looking at are Holland - Walibi World, Efteling, Toverland Belgium - Walibi Belgium, Bobbejaanland, Germany - Movie Park Our thoughts were to do full days at Walibi World, Efteling & Walibi Belgium. Any thoughts/recommendations/cautions/advice would be much appreciated. Andy
Groteslurf Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Hi, are you going to travel by train from Amsterdam to those parks ? I don't really know how good/bad the connections are to the Dutch and German parks. For Belgium, it will be a +3 hours journey till the gates of both parks. For WB, take a direct train fm Amsterdam to Brussels and from there a rail connection to the station near WB (Ottignies I think). For BJL take a direct train to Antwerp. From there the train to Herentals and then the bus to Bjl. Ask the driver where to get of as you will not actually see Bjl at the busstop. It is still 15 minutes walking from there. If you're renting a car, make sure you hire a gps And then I would suggest Toverland aswell. Maybe you can combine Toverland and MPG or Toverland and Bjl on one day in that case, although MPG and Bjl are more than half-a-day-parks. Be warned about schooltrip crowds on weekdays in the second half of June ! Duinrel and Drievliet are also 2 parks not that far from Amsterdam and they can be combined in 1 day (by car that is)
AndyH Posted April 22, 2008 Author Posted April 22, 2008 Thanks for the reply, I should have said we have a hire car booked & GPS nav sorted so getting about should be OK. Hadn't really thought about doubling up a couple of the parks. Also thanks for the comment about school trips, we are going 16-21 June, do the parks get really busy then?
Groteslurf Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 ^ It's a hit or miss. It will even worse the last week of June but you will encounter schoolgroups already in that week aswell. I once ended up (10 years ago or so) with 30000 schoolkids in WB. I can tell you, it was terrible But you might be lucky and only face light crowds aswell of course. 2 years ago I was on the same day in Duinrel with no crowds and in Drievliet with heavy crowds. So really, it is a hit or miss but be prepared.
sfotfreak Posted April 26, 2008 Posted April 26, 2008 In Amsterdam i advise the Amsterdam dungeons! Very entertaining and a good credit at the end!
