assikc Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Hi everyone, I can't find details anywhere!! so I'll try ask you Me and friend of mine want to do theme park tour at England (We are from Israel) We check 3 interesting parks: Alton towers, Plackpool & thropy part. and for the question: 1. we have time only for 2 parks, Which is recommeded and which less? 2. At blackpool, Can I pay for enternce for all rides or each ride alone? 3. where can I find place to stay (sleep) near by, But not too expencive? 4. for the most important ques... who the hell can I get this places? Is it difficult to mange to get there?? 10X a lot!!!
WillMontu Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Based on my personal experiences, I would do Blackpool Pleasure Beach (Blackpool with a B) and Alton Towers. BPB used to be free admission and pay-per-ride (optional wristband), but I think they changed it recently so there is also a cost for admission. You can still get wristbands for the rides, and if you're into credits, there's a spinning mouse at the South Pier (walking distance of BPB) For hotels, I'm sure Robb and Elissa will know. For the UK trip, we stayed on site (Big Blue at Blackpool and Splash Landings at Alton Towers). Alton Towers hotels come with the perk of ERT on a coaster or two in the mornings (just be prepared to do a lot of walking). Your last question is a little unclear. Are you asking if someone can give you a ride or are you wanting to look at train/bus fares?
assikc Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 I ment bus/train, If you know (: thanks!! who much was the cost fot the hotles? (sorry for the bad english)
MG Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 You can find most things about Alton Towers either from their official website www.altontowers.com or from the Alton Towers fan site, Towers Times www.towerstimes.co.uk Hope this helps for the Alton Towers part
Groteslurf Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 You can find them on the AT website too, but here some b&b websites, all located only a few miles fm AT : http://www.alvertonmotel.co.uk/ http://www.rowanlodge.co.uk/ http://www.thewarren-bb.com/ http://www.the-malthouse.com/ http://www.chainedoak.com/ http://www.hermitagefarm.co.uk/home.htm http://www.shawgatefarm.co.uk/ http://www.smoothhound.co.uk/hotels/hillside.html http://www.tenementfarm.co.uk/ http://www.crowtreesfarm.co.uk/ http://www.fieldsfarmbb.co.uk/ http://www.cross-farm.co.uk/ We slept in the Rowanlogde. Very friendly people and great breakfast. Last time I checked, all b&b were priced btwn Gbp 18 and 30 pp/pn. No idea whether it's easy to reach AT by public transport. I know Ryanair is serving Blackpool but perhaps not from where you live. Liverpool and Manchester are somewhere in between BPB and AT. Probably you can fly in to one of those airports and look for train/bus connections from there. Or rent a car.
assikc Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 Thank you all. Another question I coming in May... is it a good weather time?
Groteslurf Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 Hard to predict : you can have all kinds of weather in the UK in May. I would say, the chance for good (dry) weather is better than 60 %, shower days 30 % and 10 % for really bad rain days. Temperature average must be near 20° C.
