Dorney Park TR with VIDEOS 6/28

Hey everybody,

 

Just got back today from a trip to Allentown to check out Hydra. We arrived yesterday at noon to find the parking lot nearly empty, and likewise, the rides. My girlfriend Ali and I started with Hydra's front seat. The ride was a walk-on, even the front row. At times, we were the only two on the train.

 

Hydra was fun but felt very slow and without much force. The best two parts are the jojo roll right out of the station and the unique cobra roll. Add to that the fact that it didn't start with (or include for that matter) a vertical loop, which has been done on every other B&M coaster capable of having one...

Talon was next. GREAT B&M inverted coaster. Last time I came here, Talon had not yet been built so it was new to me. Once again, a walk-on for the front seat. Took many rides on both Talon and Hydra throughout the day. This coaster has some unique elements as well, and the finale was fantastic.

Other coasters throughout the day were Laser (Schwarzkopf Doppel Looping). (does this ride have the slowest lift ever or what??) Steel Force, not a big fan of Morgan hypers but its a classic. Thunderhawk, the park's wooden coaster, and the Wild Mouse (which had the only line we waited in all day).

 

Dorney removed their Skyscraper upcharge ride (I believe it's going to Valleyfair?) and they know have a brand spankin' new S&S Power Screamin' Swing. The ride cycle is very short, but pretty intense with great visuals. Definately worth the 5 bucks they were asking to ride.
