verticalzero Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Yesterday I visited AT for the 1st time in 6 years. All rides were open and the Q time was about 15 to 20 mins wait. Parking car = £4 Park entrance = £34 each I went on everything twice apart from Oblivion (hate falling vertical) and the Mine Train (Q too long). Rundown of the rides: Log-Flume: Got soaked and it was rainning to add more wetness, love the massive duck in the tunnel. Rapids: Still enjoyable as ever in the rain Rita: My 1st time on a launched coaster, great fun but a little short, surpised to find some " " on the cross-overs. Still won't do "Stealth" at TP. Corkscrew: Quite rough, but you have to love the old timer, needs a re-paint. Oblivion: Also needs a paint-brush as track is rusting in some places. Spinball: Excellent spinning, ended going up the lift-hill sideways, could do with a longer circuit. Duel: Scored 35,000 points Nemesis: Def does need a repaint. Forceful as ever in the back-seat and had an E-Stop on the lifthill. Air: Totally love the flying feeling, felt like Superman. Hex: Made my head spin and stomach go. Charlie and the Choc factory: Nice conversion for the boat ride, but the best part was the Glass Lift simulator. On to the Photo's below: On the way to Alton Towers, JCB statue made out of different size buckets Mono-rail approching New Mini Golf Course £5 a go for 9 holes Best name ride in the park Driving School Merlin locked away in his castle room Tower gardens Tunnel from X-Sector within the Tower Door West Wing Tunnel from Towers to X-Sector The window in the Great Hall Inside towers POV Various pictures of the Towers, Mono-rail and grounds Corkscrew still going strong with Rita track in fore-ground Tyre entrance for Rita Rita speeding towards 2nd hill/twist Full train ready to launch 0-60mph in 2.5 sec's Empty Train Rita: Queen of Speed Flipping onto your back, the best part of the ride Air Station On your back curve I'm flying SW6 or "Air": Original Flying coaster. Track splits for it's duel loading stations, I wish more coasters could have this feature. Groteslurf Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Great TR and pics. Although the minigolf looks nice, 5 pounds sounds like a rip off. I hope to revisit AT one of the next years.
hemmy Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Been a while since I have been to AT, wish I went 3 yrs ago when I was in Paris. Oh well, thanks for the pictures, always a beautiful park.
