Dark Vampire Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Maybe some people of the European country's have heard of Studio 100? It is a brand like Nickelodeon but Studio 100 is focusing more on Europe and is mainly for the little children. With television shows, theater shows, movies, all kind of merchandise and of course, their 3 themeparks (Plopsaland, Plopsa Indoor and Plopsa Coo), they keep growing bigger every day. A park similar too Plopsa Indoor will open in Holland soon. -> Plopsaland is the biggest and was first called Melipark. Studio 100 bought it and rethemed it, and putted alot of new attractions. -> Plopsa Coo is a small park in the french part of Belgium and was also another park so they needed to retheme it too. -> Plopsa Indoor is a small indoor park and is totally new. A little presentation in english so you can understand the brand more: http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=SdDrfbk0Q_g (the youtube tag doesn't work?) Something that Plopsaland does every year (when the park is still closed), is giving the fan's a tour in the park behind the scene's and construction sites. Also they always tell us the plans they have and we can ask them questions in the "question hour". One thing they gave us more information about was that they want to build a coaster with inversion(s) and probably a launch, coming in 2009 (Plopsaland will be existing 10 years then). More on that later in this post, first the pictures from the wintermeeting. Concept art from the new entrance (picture from Plopsa fansite) A part of the group, and on the left you can see the houses of the new "main street" Standing in the passage way of the new entrance The backside of the big door, as seen on the concept art The entrance behind the door, in the circles with plastic around it, there will be coming benches A new toilet block outside the park. Build on popular demand for people who need to go but already have left the park The new attraction, a zierer jet ski Another new attraction A new station for the rollerskater, and some new theming The inside of the new shop Don't ask New bricks for the castle log flume As you can see, all the rides are based on one of their television programs. Ok, more information about the inversion coaster now. Cause Vekoma and Mack didn't have time right now, the new coaster will probably be a Zierer or Gerstlauer. One possible option they are looking for is a coaster as Lagoon: http://www.rcdb.com/ig3534.htm Looks like the park is going to focus more and more on a older group of people too, what is offcourse great news! Never thought a park meant for kids, are going to build a looping coaster. It looks like the Plopsa parks have a great future in sight. The parks are the best growing here in Belgium, and they keep growing. With the other parks investing in nothing or average investments, Plopsa beats them to it. Looks like Plopsa is the only group here in Belgium that knows how to invest in good things. If you got the chance to visit Plopsaland, do it! Hope you liked it a bit, and learned some new things of this park.
Groteslurf Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Thanks for the report. When the new Plopsapark in Holland wil be open, I'll be purchasing a seasonpass again for my children and for myself of course . I really like the Plopsaparks and theming and once the looping coaster is there, TPR should really visit Plopsaland.
