Hi,

My 8-year-old son Max is quite good at building parks in RCT3 (Mac version)-- for an 8-year-old. Unfortunately, his father (me) is not quite up to the task of helping him get to the next level. I would sure appreciate any help you guys can give me with the following:

1) How do you make a video of a roller coaster on the Mac? He's dying to share his coasters on YouTube and I don't know how to help him do this.

2) Does anyone know if the Wild expansion pack will appear on the Mac? He really wants this!

3) From YouTube he knows that there are a lot of "mods" that are available for RCT3. Are these available on the Mac? Is there any way to make this subject accessible to an 8-year-old?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best,

Larry (Max's Dad)

Since it's an Imac, you might be able to but it in the movie editing program and move it from there.

Hope that helps...

(How did you get RCT2 and 3 on the mac. I have it on my older computer but it wouldn't work on my mac?)

Hey,

This should help...

1. Its easy, while in game if you go on the left you should eventually find a silver picture with a spanner on it and if you click on that you will find a list of shortcuts including the one to record video. then you will find the video im movies rct3. Either edit it in iMovie or just make it small enough with a free program called ffmpgx (just search) and put on you tube, simple.

2. The company who converted RCT3 and Soaked for mac do own the rights to convert wild for mac too but its just a case of waiting until they get round to it.

3. The mods you are talking about are called custom scenery with things like custom suports, buildings, particle effects e.t.c and most of the work on mac aswell its just a few that dont so its trial and error. There is a sticky topic on this part of the forum called custom scenery where you can download it and find out how to use it.

I hope this has helped

Thanks for the responses.

Handy Andy-- I'm not sure what you mean by "on the left you should eventually find a silver picture with a spanner on it and if you click on that you will find a list of shortcuts including the one to record video." I have not been able to find this-- can you give a few more details here?

Team Thriller-- it's easy to get RCT on the Mac-- you need to buy the Mac version, produced by Aspyr!

Does anyone know when or if Aspy will put out Wild?

Hi Gang,

OK, we've figured out how to get mods but we still don't know

1) how to make movies of RCT3 coasters

and

2) if Wild! is coming out for the Mac. (I can't find anything on the Aspyr website about it.)

Best,
