matttty Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 I will post notes about each park and get right to pictures. So I went on a teen tour this summer and we went to 8 different parks in 7 states over two weeks. Our first Stop was Six Flags America. Notes- -They dont like giving courtesy cups of water in over 98* weather. -Everything was one train operation but they didnt need more than one. -Superman was really good (even though its supposed to be the worst out of the three) Superman at SFNE is much better though. -Mind Eraser is the worst coaster ever! -Wild one and Roar are really good wooden coasters. The first time I rode roar was so much better than the second time even though I was in the same row, seat, and train both times. But still they are really great wooden coasters. -Two face was really smooth and I love how the seats are on this coaster. Its hillarious watching the other persons face opposite you. -Batwing OWNS superman ultimate flight. -Jokers Jinx was the worst LIM coaster I have ever been on, the launch is EXTREAMLY weak and it was rough going through the course. -An of course Great Chase was the BEST coaster there! Pictures from SFA (Sorry for the lack of coaster pics but me and my friend split it each day one would take coaster pics and one would take people pics) CLOSED!!! =[ OPEN!!! =] Starburst!!
matttty Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 BUSCH GARDENS! -Notes -MY NEW FAVORITE PARK-Clean , Friendly, they care alot about cutomer satisfaction. -All rides were open with max amount of trains and fast dispatches. -Griffon is awesome! The best seat are the very outisde seats of the first row. The MCBR totally kills the ride though. And this ride is SICK at night. -Lochness Monster is the smoothest Arrow I have ever been on, it was really fun and a nice long coaster. The loops were awesome! -Apollos chariot is good only in the front of the train and compared to Nitro It loses without a doubt. Although there was one part that was Insanely fun that feel like you are being thrown from the ride and its right where the picture is! -Alpengiest is THE BEST inverted coaster I have been on. The ride is fast, smooth, and the snow ice caps really add a nice touch on the sceneary. -Pompeii is the best chute the chutes ride I have ever been on. The themeing went off to early though. -Curse Of Darkcastle was ehh. Nothing like Spiderman, but the themeing was really well done (just like the whole park) -Big Bad Wolf was really good! The best Swinging Inverted Coaster I have been on. I love how it swoops around trees and the last drop over the water is the best, very intense even with breaks. -The shows are also a good way to cool off in the heat. They are really well done nothing like Six Flags and I still have one of the songs stuck in my head!!!! -The food and the food areas were nothing like I have ever seen. It actually felt like I was eating in Italy with the fountains and open air food section! and I love how you can get your food from a buffet line and then pay after. HAHAHA try me on for size Keep HEAD erect
matttty Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 DOLLYWOOD Notes- -Really good park. -Clean, Friendly workers. -Mystery Mine was awesome!!! The themeing was outstanding and the ride was smooth fast and enjoyable. -Tennessee Tornado was another smooth arrow, but definitly to short. -Food is really cheap and really good, especially there fried chicken. -Thunderhead is a good wooden coaster near the top of my list but I prefer Kentucky Rumbler over it. The fly by station is annoying while waiting online. -Blazing Fury was a cool mini ride that had two suprising drops in it. -The gift shop is basically DOLLY PARTON's face every where and is kinda scary. Pictures LOOSE or CUMBERSOME items hehehe
matttty Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 Beech bend -It was one of the best small parks I have been to. Its like a permanant fair. -Kentucky Rumbler is an awesome wooden coaster! I like this better than thunderhead, in fact KR is my number three wooden coaster. -Their crazy mouse is so insane and there was ejector! on the last small hop at the end of the ride, I flew out of my seat and my camera almost went flying. -Their Pinfari was smoother then I thought it would be and actually really fun to ride! - THE BEST part of the whole park has to be the petting zoo! It totally owned anything there!! When I was there the goats were in heat and I have a video of them humping, its only 12 seconds becuase they would hump eachother for seconds at a time and when they actually went at it my camera died. matttty Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom -I actually really liked this park. I had heard that it was just like SFA another dirty SF park but I didn't think it was bad at all. -There was absolutely NOONE at the park that day. -I finally got to experience a Schwarzkopf shuttle coaster! and I have to say it was really fun, the launch was eh but what do you expect after riding TTD/KK. I have an POV which was allowed by the park which i will post at the end. -Thunder Run I thought was a really good and is #10 on my top ten wooden coasters. -Chang was smooth but it put to much preassure on my legs as did mantis but RR is the best Stand up! -T2 is one of the smoother SLC out their but it needs a new paintjob, you can see the old red paintjob -On Twisted Twins Lola was the only side running Stella was being retracked. DSCN1706.MOV Greezed Lightning POV
matttty Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 Holiday World. -I was EXTREAMLY excited for this park beyond beleif!! Well let me just say it was a HUGE let down. -There is just nothing to this park although I must say Raven was a great woodie and my number 7 wooden coaster. -The legend was good but just didnt do anything for me. -And the best i mean WORST for last. Seriously how can people think this is better than El toro. 24 seconds of airtime, WHERE?!? I was probably in to much pain to realize it, although I must say that this is a different ride at night much smoother (still very rough but smoother compared to the day) -Gobbler Getaway is a cool ride but the fricken guns don't work!! -I think the best thing about this park was the FREE soda! and they just didnt have the minimum pepsi, diet, water, they had a ton of different things. -This park really didn't live up to what everyone always say about it. (and yes I am a credit whore and got on the Howler coaster) LOVEEEEE Before the thunderstorm which shut down the park for 2 hours.
spaceace12 Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 -Thunder Run I thought was a really good and is #10 on my top ten wooden coasters. -Chang was smooth but it put to much preassure on my legs as did mantis but RR is the best Stand up! -T2 is one of the smoother SLC out their but it needs a new paintjob, you can see the old red paintjob Thunder run, good? That thing, along with t2, had my back hurting for days. As for Holiday World. The 24 seconds of airtime was before the pretrimmed state, so there is less now. I have ridden Voyage and had more than 24 seconds of airtime, but I only sit in backseat (almost all the time). And Voyage has never hurt, even in the 5 ert runs during HWN. Well, I did have a owe moment, right around the photo place, that part hurt if I didn't brace.
matttty Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 I thought Thunder Run was good and out of the 27 wooden coaster I have ridden (which isn't alot) it's my number 10. (Also I said that T2 was ONE of the smoother ones out there not THE smoolest) Voayge beat the crap out of me and I did not enjoy it. It's cool that you liked, but IMO it sucks.
matttty Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 Kings Island -This park reminded me of a bigger version of SFGadv. -I have heard some bad things about this park but was excited anyway! -SOB reopened on the 4th of july so I ass-u-med that it would be open when I went! I was wrong!! Drop Zone was also closed! -We got their before the ropes dropped and waited near Sob section of the park becuase we did the sling shot first since it was only $5 for I think the first 20 minutes that the park is open. -Let me just say that The Beast was Insane!! It has to be my favorite coaster to ride at night! The pure speed going into the woods is just amazing! and that helix is intense. My number 2 wooden coaster. -I didn't like Vortex it was really rough, I feel gasm is better than it. -Racer backwards side was really fun, I have never been on a wooden coaster that went bacwards or any coaster for that matter (besides boomerangs) racer (bacwards side only) currently stands at my number 8 wooden coaster. -Flight of Fear (clone of Jokers Jinx) was 10x better although FOF has a MCBR that completely stops the ride which is really annoying. -Italian job was really fun and a cool family coaster with awesome effects and the trains are AWESOME with the doors that open up. Look how crappy SOB Lift Hill supports look. No Cocks!!
