Ccron10 Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 ^ Too late. Sorry. April 2008 After a long winter (sorry but I didn't get that many pics) the park is almost ready to open! Half of the land has been developed and I'm taking a bet the rest will be for expansion. The fort has been completely built and it looks awesome. The center of the fort is filled with a bunch of shops, restaurants, and seating area. There's also a carousel. 4 other coasters have been built to accompany Thunderbolt: Whacky Mouse is a spinning wild mouse ride from Wild West World and should serve as a great family ride. X Rider, a Stand-up X car coaster, is probably going to be one my favorite rides just by looking at it. It acts like a swinging ship flying through the station a couple of times. Limit 55 is a modified Schwartzkopf flywheel coaster with two 90 degree towers and a loop. The launch speed is around 55mph. Super Soaker is a water coaster similar to Roller Soaker at Hersheypark, but it's much wetter. Another that should be a hit with the families. With the Opening date on Memorial Day next month, a few things still need to be done: parking lots and a possible fireworks display. Stay tuned for the opening day update! Well, this is the last time I'll be heading inside the park until it opens. See ya then! Thunderbolt got lifthill lights and was testing again. A behind the scenes tour was offered the day I got this photo. The wet zone. I hope some fountains will be added. Limit 55 and Super Soaker in the upper part of the pic. The centerpiece to Wilderness America Just as it was when it was at WWW Gotta love the slide.
Ccron10 Posted November 25, 2007 Author Posted November 25, 2007 MAY 2008 (MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND) GRAND OPENING! As of 9 a.m. this morning Wilderness America Amusement Park officially opened it's doors! After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Park Manager, Jake Francis gave a short speech to the press. When you enter the park, look around for a little suprise. I am not giving any clues on what it is, but I should make you wonder what it could be. I don't think that the park will be in the Red this season, but who knows for next year. Only our guests' patronage will determine that. After my first trip today I got a few favorite rides and X Rider has to be at the top followed by Whacky Mouse. The overall park was nicely themed and I found that "suprise" the manager was talking about. Comments please! Stay Tuned for a mid-late 2008 update and news on the 2009 addition. Comments Please! What could this mean?......... Wilderness Fort had to be the least busiest area of the park. Whacky Mouse was a big hit! Those main gate ticket lines are FULL! And the gates are open! Let season begin! The staff is getting ready for the big day!
rckrazy06 Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Looks good, but I think the other coasters should have sweet signage like Thunderbolt.

Ccron10 Posted December 29, 2007 Author Posted December 29, 2007 September 2008 FW has finally released the details on the new ride! September 12, 2008Fort Wilderness Theme Park Today we are happy to announce our new addition for the 2009 season called RED ZONE. The new indoor attraction will be a combination of a indoor/outdoor roller coaster and a laser batter game. Unlike the ride at Hershey a few miles away, this will be longer, faster, and more competitive. The coaster features a top speed around 35 mph with 3 LIM powered launches, a lifthill and 2 outdoor portions. To accomidate the new attraction, the parks boundaries are being expanded 2 acres into the unpaved overflow lot. Red Zone will open Memorial Day weekend 2009. Memorial Day (May) 2009 Today is the day I've been for in the last few months. RED ZONE opens! The line moved suprisingly fast for it's first day open and the ride was really themed with the colors of red and black. The ride was very cool, fast and even though it didn't offer any airtime, the spinning of the cars made up for it. As far as park happenings, a disko was spotted in the matennence area (pictures though). It looks like it might go in the small area across from RED ZONE. There's also been talk about moving X-Rider to a new location in the park and modifying it a bit. If they do then the reason is probably because the park want's to reduce the clutter in that area. No news on anything so far about 2010. I can't wait for the new disko! When they expand the midway down past here, it would make for a good photo op. More land for the park. The facade for the entrance and the queue patio has to be my favorite part.
doublex98 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 This park looks great man! I really like it! I really cant wait to see whats next!
Adrenaline_Rush Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Red Zone looks awesome, cant wait too see more. The park looks great! Keep up the good work!
Ccron10 Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 Late June 2009 About a week after RED ZONE opened, the rumor about X-Rider's removal was true. Fortunately I was there for the last ride! The park released this statement: Ever since X-Rider's opening, we always found that the ride's location made the area around it too cluttered. The ride will not be gone from the park long, and when it returns, the ride will be completely remodeled and at a new spacious location. X-Rider's location will be home to an even thrilling, but smaller coaster for the 2010 season called INFERNO.INFERNO will be a new coaster type called a ZacSpin created by Intamin A.G. of Switzerland. The coaster's height will be lower than X-Rider and even the classic wooden coaster, Thunderbolt. INFERNO will open on Memorial Day 2010. The demolition of X-Rider was very swift and the ride seems to be currently in pieces in the park's storage lot. The new disko opened to today called Disk-O. Inspite of the park not advertising the ride's opening, it seems to be a big hit. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- May 2010 INFERNO is finally open! The ride seems to be a clone of the European models, but with a little twist. Part of the ride flies through the station's ceiling! WA is also adding ride height signs similar to Hershey's. Only 2 rides have it so far, but it wouldn't suprise me if the rest of the rides get them soon. The big area behind the ride seems to be looking a bit different lately. Maybe in a year or two the park might be getting a new area or new coaster. Hmm. What's happening there? The park. ...up until the built the queue. Maybe they're trying something new. Blends into the theme... That station fly-by looks awesome! I spy INFERNO! As of January, the ride's track is built. All that's left to build is the station. There's X-Rider. That's a big plot of land for INFERNO. As of the middle of June, the supports are all that's left. There go the last riders. Looks like today's the last day. Disk-O is finally open!
doublex98 Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 looking really great man! Inferno looks really cool!
Adrenaline_Rush Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 That fly by looks awesome! I hope you change its layout though, I want to see some original trackwork on that thing, not just another clone. And change the queve line please! Parks still looking great though!
