What Now Posted May 26, 2005 Posted May 26, 2005 Friday, May 20: - Never waited more then 20 minutes to ride anything at DCA. - Even the Sun Wheel had a short line. Rode in a Swinging car for the 1st time in a while. - Mom and I were going to go into Disneyland, but there was a long line to get in and we were tired, so we left. Saturday, May 21: - We were originally planned to go to Scandia on this day, but we didn't want to be outside at a park in "the 909s" in 80-90 degree weather. - We went to the Bowers Museum instead. Spent about 3 hours at the Egypt exhibit. We started on other exhibits when the museum closed. - Headed to Knott's at around 4. - Spent some time at Independence Hall. - Knott's itself was busy. When I heard it was going to be "Gospel Fest", I pictured the park to be overrun by "Jesus-Freaks", but I didn't see any of that. There was, however, lots of families in attendance. For the most part they seemed well behaved. - The total time spent at Knott's was 2 hours. We didn't ride much, mostly went into shops. Sunday, May 22: - Got to Disneyland around noon. - The park looks nice now that it's dressed up for the 50th. - The changes to PotC were cool. - They have expensive desserts On to the pictures: I knew Disneyland was expensive, but $29.99 for dessert?!?! At least it comes with a cool plate. It was absolutely deserted! It's... the backside (sideside?) of Ghostrider! hmm... S&S towers and a B&M. I wonder when they'll get a Morgan hyper? It's like I'm back in Philly. A nice museum. They don't allow photography inside, though. um...It's Orange Stinger! And now I'm Screamin' or something?? It's Screamin' 'nuff said A picture of Mom and I on ToT First ride of the trip was Tower of Terror
Zoltan_Kodaly Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 Whee I love the swinging Sun Wheel! Interesting that you went to so many parks, and hardly rode anything - if I lived in California, I'd be doing the same thing! (Especially at Knott's.)
Token Yankee Guy Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 ^^ LOL, I hope thats you and you're mom in the middle row on ToT. Because your mom looks all proper while sitting it makes me laugh.
What Now Posted May 27, 2005 Author Posted May 27, 2005 ^ Yes, that is us in the middle row. ^^ I tell you, it's nice having all those annual passes.
Red Benny Posted May 27, 2005 Posted May 27, 2005 I went to the Bowers too recently after a three day stint at DLR. It's a very nice museum and very convienent being only a few exits south of Disneyland. The exhibit they have right now is really neat. It's all about mummies and Egyptian burial art. They have a few mummies that they do MRI scans on so you can see all the details on the inside without having to open them up. My only complaint is that there isn't much to it. We spent about 2 hours there.. but it's worth checking out, especially if you're in the Disneyland area and have some time to kill. It's funny, my vacation videos are almost the same. After a bunch of DCA, we walk up to the entrance of Bowers only to turn right back around. Damn no camera rule.
