Six Flags Nebraska (RCT2)

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I woke up one morning and thought " I wonder what I could do with the default SF scenario, 8Cars, and SoB?"

So I logged myself onto RCT2 and got to work. SFN is the result.

Like I said, I'm basically done. I need to add one or two more rides between NE Twister and Gotham and put in a few more trees, but it won't take long.

Okay, here's the story.

Six Flags Nebraska is located in Omaha, Nebraska alongside the world-famous Henry Doorly Zoo.

The park has six coasters.

*Flashback - a standard Vekoma boomerang. Actually, it's a mirrored clone, but I'm pretty sure there's one like that in real life.

*Sagittarius - a Premier spaghetti bowl clone.

*Superman: Escape - an Intamin rocket (clone of Stealth). Yes, I know the name isn't technically an SF name, but they have the rights to Superman, so it works out. Just pretend the one in Australia doesn't exist.

*Viper - a classic woodie. Consistantly the most popular ride in the park.

*Roadrunner Express - you can guess. A clone of the kiddie coasters at GL, SFNE, and several other parks.

*Batman: Dark Night - a small (a little over 100') B&M floorless coaster. This is my personal favorite.

Along with these coasters are a gaggle of exciting rides.

*Divebomber - a 2nd generation Intamin freefall.

*Ice Mountain Spash - a log chute, same as always.

*Nebraska Twister - a giant topspin.

*Skyrocket - an 8-seat screamin' Swing (warning: awful capacity)

*Wolverine Creek - easily the most photogenic ride in the park. A river rapids ride nestled inside Viper. You have to see it to understand.

*Joker's Jinx - an inverting ride (think Meteor at Dorney)

And a few upcharge attractions.

*Roughrider Go-Karts - expect huge lines with this one (I had it up to 30 min. once, no joke).

*Galactic Escape - ever been to Navy Pier? That motion simulator thing they have? Same basic idea.

There are also a bunch of rides for families and kids, like the unique Journey to the Center of Earth, which transports you to an underground set of hallways (not a very popular ride, but it looks good).

I used 8Cars...

...to make Skyrocket

...to make Superman work

...to make Sagittarius look good and work

...to get guests the way I wanted them (willing to ride everything, out of the park, in the park, happy, energetic, etc.)

...to get 5,000,000 bucks

...to make Wolverine Creek look better

(and I will probably make fast staff when I'm done)

And I used SoB to change Divebomber's stats to some that were more rideable (yes, No Entry signs have stopped working).

Note - this park is relatively large, and guests do tend to demonstrate their stupidity by walking around in circles and complaining. Pay them no mind. Also, the park will be empty when I upload it. It's up to you to fill it up again. Use 8Cars or SoB if you wish.

EDIT: Oh yes, please comment. I'm always open to suggestions.

This is basically where I am now. The space on the left will probably be home to skycoaster and splashboats, while the space on the right might get an SLC or a wild mouse.

I love this shot.

Gotham City Eatery. There's a Papa John's and a Subway in there. There are three floors on which to eat, including outdoor patios on the first and third floors.

SCR318.jpg.50cccd8eff9dbd8ebfc5e7c701d0cc87.jpg

Dark Knight and its station. Before you say the station isn't "Batmany," it's supposed to be a mansion, not a laboratory or anything.

SCR316.jpg.f58cd97bd0a20bd74142b290701eeb19.jpg

Viper's queue. That will usually be completely full, but I took this on an off day.

SCR315.jpg.fc134fb32bb28b5ca0a7cad8d149efe9.jpg

Sagittarius' queue. I used 8Cars to make the launch and track more realistic.

SCR313.jpg.9a88ac995520e813668416bcfada5d34.jpg

Divebomber. I wanted to make it seem like a big deal, so I did weird things with the paths.

Superman cresting its tophat. Taken before Skyrocket

This is one of my favorite views. Viper and Wolverine Creek. Taken before Sagittarius.

^Are you sure? Not even like across the street or anything? Oh well, I'm sure they could find some place to put it.

I don't really have any screens yet, but I did end up putting a skycoaster (Daredevil Dive) on the left side with a shoot the chutes (Hurricane). Right now, I'm building a standard 180' one-twist impulse coaster on the other side (V2).

EDIT: Oh yes, and there's a Flash Pass system for the following rides:

-Batman: Dark Knight

-Divebomber

-Flashback

-Hurricane

-Ice Mountain Splash

-Nebraska Twister

-Sagittarius

-Skyrocket

-Superman: Escape

-V2: Vertical Velocity

-Viper

-Wolverine Creek

Here's the park before V2.

^The mountains are part of the scenario and I'm far too lazy to use the "own all land" trick to remove them.

Well, I am officially finished with Six Flags Nebraska. As promised, V2 now fills up the space on the right side of the map.

EDIT: There you go! Download to your heart's content. And please comment, as always.

!!FUN FACTS!!

-Sagittarius is a parking lot coaster. The remaining space is the employee lot.

-Flashback was originally in the front of the park. It was moved back and replaced with Skyrocket.

-I went through numerous ideas for the space at the right side of the map. These include an SLC, a wild mouse, an Intamin woodie, and an Intamin mini-hyper.

-Sagittarius and Superman both tend to have their safety cut out mid launch (which, as you know stops the lift and, therefore, the launch) and roll back. Unfortunately for any guests who might be in line, you'll have to double-close it and reset.

Have fun.

There it is. The finished product. I'll probably upload it later today.

Here you can see the whole area.

Here's V2. I know the station is very simplistic, but I wanted a weird conformity on this ride.

SCR330.jpg.968e700ef7fe97a4aa794ad2fbee1d41.jpg

Daredevil Dive is *okay.* Every skycoaster I make in RCT2 always looks a little small to me, and this one is no different. Oh well.

SCR329.jpg.490f7f82fc33f6a47a25724f4f49cbb8.jpg

Flashback looks a lot nicer from this angle now.

SCR328.jpg.9dfc0545ab297d11ded618822d86c404.jpg

Here's the first new area. I couldn't find any good way to build a path to Hurricane, but I think it looks fine.

Six Flags Nebraska.SV6

Here you go.

Thanks! I'm glad you liked it.

I've decided to finish all the parks I've started. Next up is my 2006 recreation of Worlds of Fun. I'm literally about a day and a half from finishing. All I need to do is finish adding trees (which will take longer than it did here, since WoF is very tree-heavy). Then I'm going to try to finish Six Flags South Dakota, which I started almost a year ago (it's home to another Superman: Escape; this one is a standup). I'm also going to attempt to finish my Glen Oaks Amusement Park saga that I started a few months ago. And I have another park in the works - Melling Park.
