verticalzero Posted March 18, 2007 Posted March 18, 2007 My friend and I spent an afternoon by the sea (far too cold to go for a swim but amazing sunny weather for March), we headed 40 miles south to Hayling Island to a park "Funland" and Southsea Pier 1/2 hour drive along the coast towards Portsmouth. Rides at Hayling Island: Klondike Gold Mine - Steel Coaster, used to be at Drayton Manor Park 125ft Drop Tower - came from the Trocodrea in London. Brackdance, KMG Afterburner and lots of kiddies rides. Rides at Southsea: Skyways - S.D.C. / Galaxi Steel Coaster http://rcdb.com/ig840.htm Disc O, Twister, Waltzer and an Extreme flat ride. We left home at 10am and had a relaxing 1.5 hours drive to a pub at the end of Hayling Island which serves great food, there is also a foot "ferry" to near-by Gosport. After our lunch we headed back along the beach / coast to spend about 1/2 hour at Funlands. No trip is complete without 6 goes on "Daytona USA" and " Sega Rally" Arcade games. I wish I could have the 8 "linked" cabinet version of Daytona installed in my house. Cheat for Daytona: "Press start when you see fruit reals on the 1st circuit to get 777 and claim a free credit". We left "Funlands" and traveled along the coast to Southsea. Got home about 8pm after a fun sunny wind filled day by the sea.
