snorkymn Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Ok, sorry for the dumb questions, but I'm new here, and searching hasn't really brought me the information I'm looking for.. So what the heck are Coaster Credits and why are people talking about them so much? And is there a way for someone to post all the theme park acronyms? For us newer people we see tons of people posting about SFMM or other places, but have no idea what they're talking about. I would suggest the first person in a post to use an acronym, post what it really means as well, so any new people coming to the board don't feel so lost. Or at least have a list in the FAQ part of the forums so we don't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what each thing means here. Example: Hey, I went on this great coaster at VF (Valleyfair) the other day. Perhaps when you've been around a while, this isn't a big deal, but for a newbie, trying to get in to the flow of things, it's a pain in the butt. Thanks, and maybe see some of you on the midwest trip next year! -Snork
ParkTrips Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 How to explain credit... its a number in a total count of roller coasters you have been on. Say, for instance, you go to Magic Mountain and ride Viper (+1), Batman (+1), Riddler's (+1), Goliath (+1), Goldrusher (+1), and Canyon Blaster (+1) wheras everything else is down. If you have never been on those coasters, you have gained 6 credits towards your "coaster credits" or "coaster count". If you go back and ride Batman again because it is so awesome, it doesn't count as a new credit. People talk about them so much.. I dunno why. Maybe because Elissa breeds us all into credit whores? Here is a list of acronyms that could hekp you: http://www.ultimaterollercoaster.com/forums/help/acronymn.shtml
SharkTums Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Hey Joe...on this page we have our own list too! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27577
ParkTrips Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Whoops, I shoulda searched here and not google. I fail at life
snorkymn Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 Hmm, would be nice to have that as one of the saved/top notes in the ask Alvey forum.. Since it seems multiple people are asking the same thing, of maybe saved as a FAQ?
