coasterdude5 Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 When previewing rides, you always see the other rides sorta like a RCT game but with better graphics. Do they use a certain type of software. Anybody know what it is?
joshg678 Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Some times they will use things like 3dStudio Max and other type of 3D anamation programs. I don't know for a fact on what they use, but i do know some will use NoLimits Roller Coaster Simulator. You can see some company's use NL here: http://www.nolimitscoaster.de/professionals.htm
CoasterFanatic Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Seems like Keith McVeen has done most of them lately. (3d Studio Max) http://badnitrus.coasterbuzz.com/
Meteornotes Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Most of the ones I've seen recently have been done with 3D Studio Max, but in the past I've seen ones also created with Maya and Lightwave. Pretty much any of the higher-end 3D animation packages can be used to create those animations. I have an old coaster model I should dig out and re-animate using the better rendering technology that's available now. Perhaps when I get some of the other animation stuff I'm doing out of the way... dt
DRWP2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Yeah for sure I know that Keith uses 3DMax also with a little but of Photoshop. His stuff is really amazing and he does such a great job. It is a little hard to use at first if you have never used it before but once you get the hang of it its really cool.
